[19:48] <.Bynw> has left the area of Kirsh and returned to the Cathedral to give back 
[19:48] <.Bynw> the horses and make their way back to Torent via Portal where
[19:48] <.Bynw> their own horses were left some 3-4 days before.
[19:48] <.Bynw> .
[19:48] <.Bynw> *Arrving during prayers of the noon hour, they wait until such prayers
[19:48] <.Bynw> are over to use the Portal of the Cathedral.  With more Deryni than
[19:48] <.Bynw> non among them, only 2 will need to carry the non-Deryni through to
[19:48] <.Bynw> Tornt's public portal.

[19:48] <.Bynw> *Lars teams up with Seanna to have her take him through the Portal.  Smiling a lot at his "love"*

[19:50] * +Kanax finds Jenna, a bit less perturbed by this than normally.
[19:50] <.Bynw> *Only waiting about 20 minutes until one of the priests comes and lets James know that the prayers are over and the area has been cleared so they may now use the Portal*
[19:50] * Mistyck is now known as Seanna
[19:50] <+James> "Thank you, Father."
[19:50] * +Jenna smiles at Kanax "ready?"
[19:51] * +James makes the customary donation.
[19:51] * +Kanax nods, not really responding. He finds some coin to add to the donation...
[19:51] <.Bynw> *the priest is happy to accept the donation for the use of the church's portal and nods and blesses those who give an offering*
[19:52] * +Jenna adds her own offering and unceremoniously takes Kanax across
[19:52] <+Nym> ::offers the customary donation for travel to the priest:: "I will be traveling with them father." 
[19:52] <+James> "Well, Rufus, I guess I just take you this time."
[19:53] <+Jenna> ((not taking him across THAT way, yikes! ))
[19:53] <.Bynw> *the priest nods in thanks at Nym* "You are always welcome here m'Lord"
[19:53] <+Seanna> ::makes her own offerings::
[19:53] <+Nym> ::bows his head to the priest:: "Thank you father." 
[19:54] <+Nym> ::steps onto the portal and disappears:: 
[19:54] <.Bynw> *the jump to Tornt City takes only a few heartbeats but is very taxing due to the distance, requiring rest to all the Deryni that made the jump on their own.  And especially of those that made the jump with another.*
[19:55] <+Nym> ::Sighs as he steps from the portal at Tornt:: 
[19:55] * +Kanax finds a place to sit as the others rest.
[19:56] * +James releases Rufus and sits on a bench nearby.
[19:56] <.Bynw> *Tornt City's public Portal is situated in the Square.  Many others are using the portal area and coming and going. Dropping coins as they do so*
[19:57] <+Nym> ::drops a few coins and takes a seat next to james putting his hand on his shoulder as he does so:: 
[19:57] * +Seanna drops a few coins for her and Lars as she steps through
[19:57] <+James> "Yes, Lord Nym?"
[19:57] <+Nym> @@James I must speak to the Archdruid once we reach our destination, can you arrange this?@@

[19:58] <+Nym> ::Nods and smiles to James:: 
[19:58] <+James> @@I'm going there nyself.@@
[19:59] <.Bynw> (( you will need to rest for about a day before going anywhere to recover one's strength ))

[20:00] * +Jenna makes camp outside of town, as she has seen rangers do, and invites anyone who wishes to join her
[20:00] * +James joins Jenna. Will make it easier for Rufus to hunt.
[20:00] * +Seanna takes Jenna up on her invitation

[20:01] <.Bynw> !! spot check James as you head out of town to make a camp 
[20:01] <+Nym> "I would join you Jenna but I have business to attend to first"  ::waves to the group as he fades into the crowd::

[20:01] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for James (d20+6) and rolled 25.
[20:02] <+Nym> ::pulls up his hood:: 
[20:03] <.Bynw> *outside the city walls and gates its good farmland and light woods ... good for Rufus and anyone that wants to be outdoors*
[20:03] * +Kanax follows quietly, subdued as he usually is after these portal rides.
[20:03] * +Jenna finds a suitable clearing surrounded by trees not too far from town but off the main pathway
[20:04] <.Bynw> *there are others camped outside the walls here and there*
[20:04] <+James> "Friends, I think we can get back to Paradise quicker than we thought."
[20:05] * +Jenna looks up at James "oh?"
[20:05] <+Seanna> ::looks to James with a puzzled look::
[20:05] <+James> "One of the city gates looks like the teleportation gates we used before."
[20:06] <+Seanna> "ahh"
[20:06] <+Seanna> "yes...I've heard of those"
[20:06] <+Jenna> well that sure beats a moon's cycle of travel by horse!
[20:06] <+James> "I saw an elf at it.  We'll need to inquire with him about the cost tomorrow."
[20:07] <+Jenna> "of course, everything has its price"
[20:07] * +Jenna sighs
[20:07] <+Seanna> ::there were always rumours of those around here, never could be sure though::
[20:07] <+Seanna> "yes indeed!

[20:08] <+James> "There's one in Oasis, too."
[20:08] * +Jenna looks around for animal tracks after making camp
[20:10] <+James> "How does it look, Jenna?"

[20:11] * +Jenna stalks off after the beast
[20:11] <+James> "Good eating."
[20:15] <.Bynw> (( just so you all know where you are at ... your HP was full before using the portal ... if you jumped alone or just with the kitty ... you are down to 1/3 of your total remains to strain .... if you took another person with you .... its 1/4 of your total remains

[20:18] * +Jenna is visibly weary as she hunts but intent on eating fresh meat for a change

[20:19] <+Nym> ::comes walking into camp 3 hours after he left the group with a small bird perched on his shoulder and a bit of tavern food in a basket:: "Hello"

[20:20] <.Bynw> (( only Jenna and Seanna are out hunting everyone else is at the camp ))
[20:20] <+Nym> ::smiles at James and drops the basket in front of him:: "Kanax, James, hungry? Help yourselves." 
[20:21] <.Bynw> *the bird picks at some of the bread and flys off*
[20:21] * +Jenna returns with Seanna to the camp, helping her carry a small dead deer
[20:21] <+James> "Thank you, Lord."
[20:21] <+Jenna> ((about the same time Nym shows up))
[20:21] * +Kanax takes a bit, but doesn't seem to be too hungry.
[20:22] <.Bynw> *Lars gets up as he see's the ladies return.  Smiling at Seanna and helps to take the deer and begins to clean and dress it*
[20:23] <+Nym> ::Frowns a bit at James:: "please James I was a common boy in paradise long before I was a Lord, call me Nym if you would." 
[20:23] <+James> "All right . . . Nym."
[20:23] <+Jenna> ((LOL I thought James was praying ))
[20:24] <.Bynw> *the afternoon wears on to evening and its rather peaceful in the shadows of the city's walls*
[20:24] <+Nym> ::nods and takes a with his back to a tree:: 
[20:24] <+Seanna> ((ooh, may hae to take off for a bit...feeling very sick))
[20:25] <+Seanna> ((real life sick))
[20:25] * +James relates the news about the teleportation gate to Nym.
[20:25] * +Jenna sits besides James resting while Lars tends to the deer
[20:26] <.Bynw> (( you can use this time for any character to character interactions you've been waiting for ... its hard to do that online sometimes ))
[20:26] <+Nym> ::raises an eyebrow:: "Excellent we can make the journey in no time using that" 
[20:26] <+James> "Yes, we should be in Oasis tomorrow."
[20:26] <+Jenna> "whew"
[20:27] * +Jenna snacks on any tavern food left, waiting for dinner
[20:28] <+James> "I have to take the Duke's scroll to the Archdruid when we get there, of course."
[20:28] <+Nym> :::Watches the group and then speaks up:: 
[20:29] <+Nym> "What kind of people do I find myself travelling with may I ask. I don't think formal introductions ever occured." 
[20:30] <+Nym> "I've met James but I don't know any of you personaly" 
[20:30] * +Jenna extends a hand smiling weakly "Jenna Falcon, at your service, Sir"
[20:30] <+Seanna> ((think I understand what a bulemiac feels like now))
[20:31] <+Seanna> ((too many meds for me))
[20:32] <+Seanna> "extends hand to Sir Nym...Seanna, at your service"
[20:32] <+Nym> ::stands up and takes Jenna's hand offering a slight bow:: "Nym Gibran, at yours my lady Falcon" 
[20:34] <+Nym> ::takes Seanna's hand and offers another slight bow:: "Nym, Seanna. pleased to meet you" 
[20:34] <+Seanna> ::smiles and bows deeply::
[20:34] <+Jenna> ((it's Halcon, not Falcon, sorry))
[20:34] <+Jenna> ((pronounced the same way tho))
[20:35] <+Nym> ((gotcha)) 
[20:35] <+Nym> ((Kanax??)) 
[20:36] * +Jenna leans back against a tree, fighting sleep
[20:36] <+Seanna> ::drags Lars around to make introductions...Sir Nym, you've already heard from him before..this is Lars!::
[20:37] <+James> "I've done a bit of traveling since leaving your lands, Nym.  Been to Kirsh, Torr, even Solanda.  I travel under the ausipces of the Archdruid, but generally earn my own way.  The Archdruid likes to have a few of our people out in the world as his eyes and ears."
[20:37] <.Bynw> *Lar's bows and returns to the deer making sure its ready and then tends to the camp's fire to make sure it is ready*
[20:37] <+Nym> ::waves to Lars and nods:: 
[20:38] <+Nym> ::nods to James:: "excellent then you are all seasoned" 
[20:39] <+Nym> ::raises an eyebrow and looks to each of the others:: "any other group affiliations?" 
[20:39] * +Jenna opens her eyes "seasoned? Oh yes the deer will need that..."
[20:39] * +Jenna gets up and goes to help Lars, oblivious to the other conversation now
[20:39] <+Seanna> "it's being taken care of Jenna"
[20:41] * +Kanax nods to Nym, "Kanax. Sorry, was lost in thought."
[20:42] <+Nym> d20+5 
[20:42] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for Nym (d20+5) and rolled 13.
[20:44] <+Nym> ::his hands suddenly clutch at his head and he let's out a piercing scream, suddenly falling down to the ground:: "AAAHHHH!" 
[20:44] <.Bynw> *Lars and Jenna use what they have available to season the deer and get it cooking over the fire*
[20:44] * +Jenna turns back towards Nym, startled
[20:44] * +James moves to Nym "What's wrong??"
[20:45] <.Bynw> *rufus sits next to the fire looking at the deer roasting*
[20:45] <+Nym> ::wimpering on the ground and shaking violently:: "...Blood.....no......what........Blood....." 
[20:46] * +Kanax blinks, jumping to his feet, moving closer to Nym
[20:46] <+Seanna> ::runs over to Sir Nym, full of concern::
[20:46] <+Seanna> ::touches Nym...to see what she can find out::
[20:47] * +James attempts to put his shields over Nym to reinforce his owm.
[20:47] <.Bynw> *lars looks over from tending to the deer wondering what to do*
[20:47] <+Nym> ::goosebumps cover his skin and his teeth chatter uncontrolalbly as he continues to shake and mumble:: 
[20:48] <+Seanna> ::tries mind contact::
[20:48] <+Nym> "roots......blood......so.....cccollldd...." 
[20:49] <+Seanna> ((should I roll?))
[20:49] <.Bynw> (( see the pm Seanna ))
[20:49] <+James> ((How about me?))
[20:49] <+Seanna> ((got it))
[20:50] * +Kanax watches helplessly.
[20:51] <+Nym> ::just as suddenly he stops mumbling and seems to get a bit of control on himself:: 
[20:51] <+Nym> "Cold...bring me to the fire..." 
[20:51] * +Jenna reaches out with her mind to James but is already drained and unable to help
[20:51] <+Seanna> "Sir Nym...of course!"
[20:51] <+Seanna> ::helps him to the fire::
[20:51] * +James helps Nym, too.
[20:52] <.Bynw> *the roasting deer spats ... one hits Rufus who has gotten too close and he hisses and runs off a bit*
[20:52] <+Nym> ::teeth chattering to seanna with a grin:: "just...nnnym."

[20:52] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for Seanna (d20+8) and rolled 13.

[20:54] <+Nym> ::drinks from the wineskin and warms himself by the fire:: "Thank you Jenna"

[20:54] * +Jenna takes it back "I'd warm it but we're out of mulling spices"

[20:55] <+Nym> "No one is attacking, it's fine, I'll be fine" 
[20:55] <+Jenna> "what was it?"
[20:55] <+Nym> ::makes peacefull geastures for everyone to take a seat::

[20:55] <+Seanna> ::keeps stroking Nym's back::

[20:57] <.Bynw> *Lars looks around* "What's going on??"
[20:57] <+Nym> ::Blinks and seems to compose himself:: 
[20:57] <.Bynw> (( remember there are non deryni amoungst you and they cannot hear your mind speech))
[20:58] <+Nym> "I'm okay, it was the akasha" ::says the last word with a bit of reverance:: 
[20:58] * +Jenna looks confused
[20:58] <+James> "So what happened is a good thing?"
[20:59] <+Seanna> "akasha?"
[20:59] <+Nym> "yes and no the aksha is neither good or bad" 
[21:00] <+James> "But it's big and powerful, then?"
[21:00] <+Seanna> "is it like an avatar?"
[21:00] <+Seanna> "a spirit?"
[21:00] <+Nym> "it is neither big nor small. I don't think it is like an avatar no..." 
[21:01] <+Seanna> "hmmmn...." 
[21:01] <+Seanna> ::looks really confused also::
[21:01] <+James> ::to Nym:: @@ If this happens again, should I not try and block it, then? @@
[21:01] <+Nym> "It would be hard to explain the Akasha. it is and that is enough for now" 
[21:02] <+Nym> @@nothing you could do to help@@ 
[21:02] <+Nym> "I have been having visions" 
[21:02] <+Nym> "Strong visions, since we left Kirsh"

[21:02] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for James (d20+5) and rolled 13.
[21:02] <+Seanna> "ah, spirits...those I do understand!"
[21:03] <+Nym> "So strong that they somtimes seem more real then reality itself" 
[21:03] <+Seanna> "have had people who explained those to me before"
[21:03] <.Bynw> *Lars* "Visions eh.... "
[21:04] <+Seanna> "Sir Nym, listen to the spirits, do not ignore them!"
[21:04] <+Nym> "it is somthing like......well...the akasha is a consciousness of....well of everything" 
[21:04] <+James> "Like nature, then?"
[21:05] <+Seanna> "the spirit as I heard it told is the "all"...listen to it!"
[21:05] <+Nym> ::knuckles his temple as if he has a headache:: 
[21:05] <+Nym> "It is all that both of you have said and ...more." 
[21:06] <+Nym> "I feel these visions are warning me of a danger that I must investgate" 
[21:06] <+Seanna> "then you are truly blessed to be visited by such a thing!"
[21:07] <+Seanna> ::sits back in awe::
[21:07] <+Nym> ::smiles warmly to Seanna:: "All Anadari are, though I seem to hear it more often then most" 
[21:08] <+Nym> "There are somthings about myself I do not understand" 
[21:08] <.Bynw> *rufus creeps back, his body low to the ground, towards the cooking deer*
[21:08] * +Jenna nods "I know what you mean"
[21:08] <+Seanna> ::blushes and looks away::
[21:08] * +Jenna glances over toward the fire
[21:08] <+Jenna> "hey James I think you'd better get your cat"
[21:09] <.Bynw> *Lars divides his attention between the fire and the cooking deer and Nym's story*
[21:09] <+Nym> ::shakes his head as if to change thought paths:: 
[21:09] <+Jenna> "Lars is it ready, you think?"
[21:09] <+James> "Rufus!  Over here,"
[21:10] <.Bynw> *Lars* "almost"
[21:10] * +Jenna stands "rare meat is fine for me"
[21:11] <.Bynw> *rufus looks up to James and back to the deer and back to James ... he then bounds for James with his tail high in the air*
[21:11] * +James scratches Rufus behind the ears.
[21:11] * +Jenna unsheathes a dagger and cuts a piece of meat off that was closer to the fire
[21:12] <+Nym> "I'm afraid somthing horrible is happening or going to happen in Einar..." 
[21:12] <+Jenna> "sorry folks, I am almost at the end of my reserves here"
[21:12] * +Jenna sits and eats
[21:12] <+James> "Einar now?  Related to what happened in Kirsh?"
[21:12] * +Kanax seems to be disturbed by the ordeal with Nym, but refusing to let his confusion show, he settles in to clean his weapons. He perks up as Einar is mentioned, and frowns, "What?"
[21:12] <+Nym> "Something is comming and blood will flow before it" 
[21:13] <+Nym> ::Looks to Kanax:: "I don't know" 
[21:13] * +Jenna frowns
[21:13] * +Kanax stands, "Is it something that can be routed?"
[21:13] <+Seanna> ::looks worried::
[21:14] <+Nym> ::sighs:: "That is all I know of it" 
[21:14] <+Kanax> There is little for me in Einar, but it is still my family's home.
[21:15] <+James> "I think the elf in Altair mentioned a telegate in Einar, too.  Once I report to the Archdruid, we could take that gate to Einar."
[21:15] <+Nym> ::Leans back against a tree looking a bit tired:: "I will travel with you to the arch druid, perhaps he can send help with me." 
[21:16] <+Nym> ::looks to James and raises an eyebrow:: "Time maybe of the essence" 
[21:16] <+James> "Perhaps.  He did before when Itraveled to Adan."
[21:17] <.Bynw> (( any other actions for the night?? ))
[21:17] <+Seanna> ((not here))
[21:18] <+James> "Oasis is on the border of Einar, but we can inquire about the gate's location.  Maybe you'll think it a better desination in Einar than the border."
[21:18] * +Jenna cleans up after herself then settles into a space between some tree roots under a blanket and falls fast asleep
[21:18] <+James> ((nope))
[21:18] * +Kanax frowns, and cleans his gear quickly, "I must be off quickly in the morning. If my friends will accompany me, I will be honored."
[21:19] <+Nym> ::nods:: "I must meditate and rest. perhaps the answer will come to me in the morning" ::pulls up his hood over his eyes and lays down in the roots of the tree:: 
[21:19] <+Seanna> ::eats some venison and rests also::
[21:20] * +James prepares spells and then goes to sleep.
[21:20] <+Seanna> ((looks like lots of food left for Rufus!))
[21:20] <.Bynw> *night passes peacefully and the dawn rises sending its light and warmth of a beautiful summer day upon all*
[21:21] * +Kanax sleeps fitfully, and is awake before anyone else.
[21:21] * +James awakes to a bobcat walking on his belly.
[21:22] <+Jenna> ((at least he's not on yer head!))
[21:22] <+Seanna> ((he's got a full belly from the food we left him!))
[21:22] <+Jenna> ((I had a neko walking on my head this morning, oy! ))
[21:22] <+James> ::blinks:: Well, good morning, Rufus."
[21:23] * +Kanax prepares his gear without a word, lines of worry through his forehead.
[21:23] <+Nym> ::wakes with a yawn:: 
[21:23] <.Bynw> (( bobcat's are heavy buggers too ))
[21:24] <+Seanna> ::is sleeping soundly still::
[21:24] <+James> "Well, after breakfast we need to reclaim our horses and then check out the gate."
[21:24] * +Jenna sleeps also
[21:24] <.Bynw> *Lars awakes and makes sure everything ... cleaning up the camp*
[21:24] <.Bynw> (( ingore the makes sure everytihng .. ))
[21:25] <+Nym> ::wakes both Seanna and Jenna carefully, watchfull for knives and such:: 
[21:26] * +Seanna yawns and wakes up..huh???
[21:26] <+Nym> ::nods to the bobcat as if he just heard somthing from it:: 
[21:27] <+Nym> ::to Seanna:: "Time to move" 
[21:27] <+Nym> ::offers her a hand up:: 
[21:27] <+Seanna> ::oh, oh...gets up hastily::
[21:27] <+James> "Rufus talking behind my back again, Nym?"
[21:27] <+Nym> ::nods and smiles:: 
[21:28] * +Jenna wakes groggily, a bit disoriented but not combative
[21:28] <+Jenna> ((just grumpy ))

[21:28] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for Kanax (d20+2) and rolled 19.
[21:29] <+Nym> ::does a bit of stretching and light exercise while everyone else packs up as he has nothing to pack:: 
[21:30] * +Kanax frowns, thinking of something... "Jenna?"
[21:30] * +Jenna finishes up what little packing she has to do
[21:30] <+Jenna> "huh?"
[21:31] <+Kanax> This other "gate"...
[21:31] * +James doesn't have much to pack, either.
[21:32] * +Jenna walks over to Kanax, rubbing her eyes and face as if to wipe away the left over drowsiness
[21:32] <+Kanax> How does it differ from the portals?
[21:33] * +Jenna smies
[21:33] <+Jenna> (smiles, even)
[21:33] <+Jenna> "not to worry, it's just like walking through a door - no dizziness or anything!"
