[19:30:19] <.Bynw> *night has come to the Territory of Warp Wood and those within the palace have settled into their evening routines ... but those out in the swamp have things yet to do
[19:31:21] <.Bynw> *Chadwick addressing Seth* "So ... why have you come out of the comfort of your den of drink and women and into the swamp at night. i didn't think you had it in you."

[19:33:20] <+Seth> ::Looking frustrated:: "I don't have it in me, I hired a guide. As for my wine and women, I'll spend more time out here when you decide to bathe on a daily basis...in a tub with soap."
[19:34:06] <.Bynw> *Chadwick quickly reaches just past Jack's head and cruches something in his hand as it passes Jack's ear
[19:34:54] <+Jack> "What was that?  Poison or dinner . . . or both?"
[19:34:54] <.Bynw> (( crunches ))
[19:35:00] <+Seth> ::sneers just a bit as he half expects the druid to eat whatever he just snatched out of the sky::
[19:36:12] <.Bynw> *Chadwich holds out a large beetle before Jack, some good 3 inches across with large pinchers* "Both" *he says cracking it open and eating out of its shell*
[19:36:14] <+Seth> "I'm not here for your witty banter Master Chadwick. I'm sure you find the palace about as uncomfortable as I do in this place..."
[19:37:01] <+Seth> "I've come to ask questions of you. Lord Antillies is dead."
[19:38:31] * +Kevin nods solemnly
[19:38:36] <.Bynw> *Chadwick tosses the shell of the beetle aside* "Dead!??" *he stares for amoment a bit taken aback* "He was alive a few days ago at the Palace."
[19:39:10] <+Jack> "It was fast, just the way the old Lords died."
[19:40:16] <.Bynw> *His face changes to dead serious in the moonlight of the swamps* "Are you certain?"
[19:40:36] <+Seth> "Absolutly."
[19:44:24] <+Seth> "What do you know about this Master Chadwick?"
[19:45:46] <.Bynw> *his fists clinch* "Damned infernal ... I warned you the very night I left the Palace that you were still in danger. There is a cabal of wizards that seek to control this area."
[19:46:15] <+Kevin> "And it is there doing?"
[19:46:34] <+Jack> "Wizards?  So the church is innocent in this one?"
[19:48:35] <.Bynw> "The Church? You think those feeble Christians are capable of this??" *he shakes his head* "Bishop Nidor wouldn't harm a fly."
[19:49:14] <+Seth> ::Huffs at Chadwicks statement::
[19:49:40] <+Seth> "I think you underestimate the church and Bishop Nidor."
[19:49:46] <.Bynw> *Chadwick turns to Kevin* "Of course it is there doing. The swamps old many items they wish to use for spell components and other nefarious uses."

[19:50:25] <+Jack> "And you stop them from using the swamps?"
[19:50:51] <+Seth> "Explain yourself please Master Chadwick, How do you know this? Where are these wizards? Who are they?"
[19:52:14] * +Seth sighs as he relaxes a bit now that progress seems to being made
[19:54:29] <.Bynw> "Yes we stop them from defiling the swamp. They call themselves the Maxim. And my people have been fighting them all of our lives." *Chadwick explains*
[19:55:09] <+Jack> "Then I guess we're allies."
[19:56:55] <+Seth> "Why didn't the former lords mention any of this to us?"
[19:57:08] <+Charissa> maybe they didn't really know
[19:57:24] <+Charissa> ((oops, I forgot, I'm not there))

[19:59:52] <.Bynw> *Chadwick shurgs* "I wouldn't know. We have informed them of the danger several times."
[20:00:52] <+Jack> "Okay, well that's all behind us.  What do you suggest we do to defend ourselves from the plague?"
[20:01:25] <+Seth> ::turns for a moment and mutter under his breath, making a few complex gestures::
[20:01:29] <+Kevin> "What are their numbers, and have any previous loirds tried to attack them?"

[20:02:51] <.Bynw> "Brush up on your magical defenses ..." *he finds a few crickets and eats them* "I don't know. They aren't city types. They are very well skilled at being out here in the swamps."
[20:03:48] <+Seth> ::Turns back just in time to catch Chadwick eating dinner and sneers again::

[20:06:27] <.Bynw> *the sound of thunder can be heard in the distance and Chadwick looks up at the night sky*
[20:07:51] <+Seth> "I take it this Maxim would go to great lengths to keep the Empire away from here Master Chadwick?"
[20:09:30] <.Bynw> *Chadwick* "Adan? Of course it would. The Empire would bring the Spectrals. Competition for resourses. Thankfully that will never happen ... Warp Wood is too remote."
[20:10:14] <+Jack> "So you wouldn't be keen on the Empire having a presence here, either?"
[20:10:34] <+Seth> "You have no idea where to find these Maxim mages Master Chadwick?"
[20:13:56] <.Bynw> "They leave traces behind. The next hunting party we have I will see to it that you get an invitation to join us."
[20:14:25] <.Bynw> "The empire is not fond of my kind"
[20:14:52] <+Jack> "I'd appreciate an invite like that.  Thanks!"
[20:15:45] <+Seth> ::Seems thoughtful, a bit distracted:: "Not entirely true Master Chadwick. I hear that some places Druids are welcome in the empire actually."

[20:19:34] <+Seth> "I would appreciate being on the hunting party Master Chadwick, though I must find an easier way to travel these swamps."
[20:19:44] <.Bynw> *chadwick snorts and looks at the sky again* "You had better leave if you don't want to be here when the rain hits again"
[20:20:37] <+Jack> "Okay, we appreciate your help, Master Chadwick, and we'll stay in touch about these Maxims as best we can."
[20:22:29] <+Kevin> "Aye."
[20:23:03] <+Seth> ::Sighs:: "Happen to be an easier way out of this....place?"
[20:23:41] <+Kevin> "Can't you fly us back?"
[20:24:55] <+Jack> "Nah, let's take our time.  I don't feel up to facing Pele and company quite yet.  This vacation is doing me a load of good."
[20:26:45] <+Seth> ::Shoots Jack a look of daggers::
[20:28:08] <+Jack> "Well . . . okay, for the good of the group, if there's a fast way, I'm game."
[20:28:14] <+Seth> "Speak for yourself Lord Jack. A warm fire, mulled wine, and a fire eyed woman wait for me and I don't plan on keeping any of that waiting."
[20:29:47] <+Kevin> "I think I will take the scenic route."
[20:32:05] * +Ryethon stands up and pulls a lump of sweet gum wraped in a leaf from his pocket and takes a small bite and begins chewing thoughtfully
[20:32:07] <+Seth> ::a look of total shock on his face:: "Your all mad!"
[20:32:46] <+Ryethon> "Well if we Lord Seth can't magic us to town, then i propose we walk back."
[20:33:32] <+Seth> "Master Chadwick, I understand you where treated well when you visited the palace. If these fools want to trudge through a sewer let them. If you have it in your power to send me back, please do!"
[20:34:29] <+Jack> "Walking will work for me, Master Ryethon."
[20:34:44] * +Ryethon offers Jack some sweet gum
[20:35:41] * +Jack cautiously chews a bit. Slowly a smile crosses his face. "Not bad at all. Thanks!"
[20:35:45] <+Kevin> "As for me."
[20:35:55] <.Bynw> *Chadwick shakes his head* "Any swift movement skills I have will work only for myself ... you will have to walk."
[20:37:08] <+Jack> "Well, Lord Seth, the sooner we start, the sooner you can keep that date of yours."
[20:37:41] <.Bynw> *chadwick walks off into the darkening swamp*
[20:38:19] <+Jack> "Thanks again for your help, Master Chadwick."
[20:40:00] <.Bynw> *the night answers with the sounds of the swamps and jungles
[20:42:04] <+Seth> ::A look of desperation is now plain on his face. He begins talking to himself:: "There must be a way, think damn you!" ::jars his head a bit with his staff as if it will somehow wake up his mind::
[20:43:41] <+Jack> "C'mon, it'll all be over in a few hours."
[20:45:10] <+Seth> ::A smile spreads across his face suddenly:: "Yes...yes..."
[20:45:52] <+Jack> "Yes?"
[20:46:44] <+Seth> ::Which way towards the Tavern, Ryethon?"

[20:46:54] <+SnakeEyes> Seth Fudge Rolled

  [20:47:33] <+Ryethon> "This way." *points in the direction of the tavern*
  [20:48:27] <+Seth> ::Swings his staff behind him and secures it in his belt. Then with a few muttered words and gestures...::
  [20:50:21] <+Seth> ::His arms slowly stretch longer. The muscles grow and seem to attach in slightly new ways::
  [20:51:57] <+Seth> ::He now stands slightly hunched over, his hands nearly touching the ground. A large grin spreads over his face:: "I'll see you all back at the tavern then, by the fire."
  [20:52:21] <+Jack> "Safe journey, Lord Seth."
  [20:53:27] <+Seth> ::Suddenly he leaps to a low hanging branch, and again to another. He now moves like an ape from branch to branch quickly out distancing the party through the trees:: "Your all Mad! To Kirsh with walking!"
  [20:53:47] <+Seth> ::He disappears through the foliage and is gone::
  [20:54:13] <+Jack> ::calls after::  "Watch out for snakes."
  [20:57:36] <+Ryethon> "Well i suppose we should be heading out."
  [20:58:32] <.Bynw> *the others walk back through the swamps and make it back to the palace and tavern of Warp Wood just as the rains begin ... Seth has made it ahead of them by nearly half an hour or more*
  [20:58:34] <+Jack> "Yeah, as much as I really don't feel like going back to court life yet, we have important information to pass on."
  [20:59:19] * +Jack stops at the horse trough out back and washes off the worst of the mud.
  [21:00:41] * +Kevin follows Jack's example, getting as much mud off as possible
  [21:01:21] <.Bynw> *it is still a few hours until dawan
  [21:01:29] <.Bynw> (dawn)
  [21:03:52] <.Bynw> ? anything further before dawn comes ?
  [21:05:44] * +Kevin heads to the palace and tries to get some sleep before anything else unfolds
  [21:06:36] * +Seth forgoes sleep for drunken revelry and exagerated bragging
  [21:06:41] <.Bynw> *morning comes to Warp Wood and the rains finally stop 
  [21:08:39] * +Seth lifts his head up from the Tavern table, a mug of wine still in his hand and sneers at the light coming in the common rooms windows
  [21:08:48] <.Bynw> *Bishop Nidor makes his way back to the palace.
  [21:09:05] <+Seth> "Damn you, can't you take the day off for once sunlight?"
  [21:10:09] <+Seth> ::Snakes out from under the arm of the passed out waitress and stumbles outside to dip his head in the horse trough before heading to the palace::
  [21:12:02] * genshou-Chobits has quit IRC (EOF from client)
  [21:12:08] * +Jack gets up after a long nap at the palace and looks for breakfast.
  [21:15:01] <.Bynw> *the palace servants are always ready to prepare food for their lords
  [21:15:30] <+Seth> ::half walks, half staggers into the great hall of the palace and barks at one of the servants to fetch a mug of black bean tea and bread right away::
  [21:16:20] * Icarus has joined #Teara-Adan
  [21:17:37] * +Jack wolfs down some sausages and heads for the great hall with a piece of bread in one hand and a glass of OJ in the other.
  [21:18:57] * Coch enters the Great Hall and greets the other Lords..."Morning all"
  [21:19:11] <+Jack> "Morning, Coch."
  [21:20:30] * +Seth makes an obscene jester at Coch as he hangs his head over his mug
  [21:21:45] <+Jack> "So what did we miss?"
  [21:21:46] * +Charissa walks into the great hall looking very cheery and smiles to all there "Good Morning! Good Morning!"
  [21:22:21] <.Bynw> *Bishop Nidor enters the great hall* "My Lords. I see that you have finally returned."
  [21:22:42] <+Jack> "Your Grace, good to see you again."
  [21:23:04] <+Charissa> "Your Grace!  I trust you had a restful night?"
  [21:23:49] * genshou has joined #Teara-Adan
  [21:23:51] <+Seth> ::his cloths have obviously not been changed and he smells like tobacco smoke and sour wine. He grunts at Queen Charissa as she arrives, still hanging his head over his mug and taking sips of the hot liquid occasionaly::
  [21:23:58] <.Bynw> *the bishop bows to the queen* "Yes I had a restful evening"
  [21:24:30] <+Charissa> "then, please, join us for breakfast!" ::smiles at the Bishop::
  [21:24:33] * Coch gathers a heartly portion to eat, takes a seat, and begins
  [21:24:53] * Icarus has quit IRC
  [21:25:31] <+Seth> ::Looks up with Blood shot eyes at the bishop and the queen as they take seats::
  [21:26:16] <Coch> Coch  says  "Seth could you move downwind a bit" ::and begins to chuckle quietly
  [21:28:42] <+Seth> ::with no energy to argue, he shuffles down a seat with a sigh::
  [21:30:01] <+Jack> "So it's all settled, then?  We're selling the swamp to Flora for cash.  They'll come by next week and pick it up."
  [21:31:04] <.Bynw> *the doors to the great hall open as Captain Patrick sweeps into the chamber followed by several other palace guards*
