[19:15:49] <.Bynw> *The champerlain enters the hall as the new lords have gathered in the morning of the new day* "M'Lord and Lady" *he says with a slight bow* "His Grace, Bishop Nidor's ship has entered the harbor."

[19:18:15] <+Jack> "I guess visiting Bishops come with being a Lord.  Personally, I wouldn't cry if that ship sank with everyone on board, but I suppose i can't say that to his face."
[19:19:10] <+Jack> "Hmmm do we even have a Navy?"
[19:19:29] <+Charissa> "I'm sure we do, seeing as we are on the water"
[19:20:07] <+Coch> "While I was away I found some information and it seems the Church may have something to do with this curse of the former Lords"
[19:20:08] <+Jack> "Well, tell 'em not to sink his ship . . . today."
[19:20:26] <+Kevin> "We found that out as well."
[19:20:53] <+Kevin> "If you have not heard, the remaining lords have parished."
[19:20:56] <.Bynw> *chamberlain* "Bishop Nidor is Warp Wood's Bishop, M'Lords." *he looks abit shocked* "We are a coastal nation and city here. Our navy consists of 2 ships to protect our fishing boats, and our naval ships have cannons."
[19:21:07] <+Seth> ::Grimaces and mutters under his breath then speaks up to the chamberlain:: "See his grace to the throne room and set guards on him, don't allow more then three men to follow him. Then place guards at the ship as well. No one off or on without our permission."
[19:21:44] * +Mjolnir turns to the chamberlin.
[19:21:49] <.Bynw> *the chamberlain nods* "Yes M'Lord" 
[19:21:52] <+Mjolnir> "Aye, bring him here immediatley"

[19:22:14] <+Seth> "NO, bring him to another room, while we decide what to do, let him wait."
[19:22:28] <+Charissa> "good idea Seth"
[19:23:09] <+Seth> "Wait in a room under guard, that will send  the perfect message."
[19:23:10] <+Kevin> "At least we know some of your rash desicions ae good ideas."
[19:23:23] <.Bynw> *chamberlain* "His Grace will be awaiting you in the yellow sitting room"
[19:23:30] <+Coch> "Did you also discover it is related to the Druidic ties the former Lords had?"

[19:24:31] <+Seth> ::To Kevin:: "Can the insults and witty banter wait until both my eyes are open." ::Grimaces and takes a sip of his coffee::
[19:24:52] <+Jack> "Well, the church doesn't like my ties and better than druids, so that may be a problem."

[19:27:21] <+Kevin> "Yes, the insults can stop."
[19:27:39] <+Coch> "Then maybe the information gather should be shared and decisions made by all not by some.  If that had been done maybe the last of the former Lords would be alive and we would have more answers but we'll never know will we"

[19:28:26] <+Charissa> ::admonishes half jokingly::
[19:28:31] * +Antilles countinues to pace.. letting the words of the others flow around himself as he concentrates.
[19:28:37] <+Coch> "Sorry Lady Charissa this is not the time or place"
[19:29:00] <.Bynw> *the chamberlain bows* "If that is all, I shall prepare for the Bishop's arrival. It will be about an hour or so before he is here at the palace."
[19:29:11] <+Coch> "But I would like to revisit this later"
[19:29:13] <+Charissa> "no it isn't..we can argue later...right now we need to present an united front to the Church"
[19:29:30] <+Seth> ::Rolls his eyes and sips his black bean tea::
[19:30:43] <+Jack> "Well, what's out united position?  Live and let live?  Have a good day someplace else?"
[19:31:29] <+Antilles> "We will be in a far stronger position to negotiate with the Holy See once we are aware of the Churche's intentions with Warp Wood."
[19:31:46] <+Antilles> "I say we allow the Bishop to do all the talking first."
[19:32:11] <+Jack> "I agree there."
[19:32:31] <+Kevin> "I concur."
[19:32:41] <+Antilles> "So, do not provide him with any information... let him tell us what we need to know first."

[19:33:12] <+Antilles> "If he asks a question, try to be ambiguous.. and let Seth do all the talking."

[19:33:33] <+Antilles> "Because he... has a way with words."
[19:33:59] <+Seth> ::Makes an obscene jester at Jack and takes another sip::

[19:35:00] <+Coch> "What kind of impression does that make to have the only one in the room  with a hangover talk with the Bishop?"

[19:35:41] <+Antilles> "Are you up to it Seth?"
[19:35:54] <+Jack> "Maybe Coch should do the talking.  He seems to have done more research than any of us."
[19:36:19] <+Antilles> "I think Coch's talents lie elsewhere, Jack."
[19:36:11] <+Coch> "No just a little more thinking about the problem"
[19:36:12] <+Charissa> "I will pretend to be a clueless lady"
[19:36:20] <+Jack> "Oh well, it was just an idea." ::shrugs at Coch::

[19:36:54] <+Antilles> "Very well Charissa."
[19:36:56] <+Seth> ::Looks up from his black bean tea:: "I can do the talking, but I'd just as soon talk as just raid the ship and toss the bishop in the swamps. What do you want me to say if he starts pushing?"
[19:37:24] <+Charissa> "that we will get back with him"
[19:37:32] <+Antilles> "Nothing, Seth.. let him rant to his fullest.. in his anger, he may give away the Church's true stance."
[19:37:46] <+Jack> "How about 'shut up or we'll raid your ship and toss you in the swamp'?"
[19:37:59] * +Charissa chuckles..."good one Jack"
[19:38:10] <+Coch> "Should we send observers to keep an eye on the ship? In case he tries anything funny?"
[19:38:12] * +Antilles raises an eyebrow to Jack
[19:38:33] <+Antilles> "Perhaps you should see to that Coch."
[19:39:08] <+Coch> "and if the Church is behind this curse, is it a good idea to have all of us here at once in the presence of the Bishop?"
[19:39:25] <+Seth> ::Looks at Coch with surprise:: "I asked that the ship be put under guard already Coch."
[19:39:35] <+Antilles> "I was thinking it would be best for only a few of us to be there with the Bishop."
[19:39:48] <+Jack> ::turns to Coch:: "You think he'll try to poison us?"
[19:40:02] <+Charissa> "oh I think we can handle the good Bishop with some preparations in advance"
[19:40:28] <+Coch> "Perhaps curse us like the last Lords is what I was thinking"
[19:40:31] <+Seth> "Coch do you have any proof that the church was behind this?"
[19:40:45] <+Charissa> "we have about an hour to prepare...I would like to get busy with it"
[19:41:42] <+Coch> "The locals believe it to be true but with the Lords dead there is no way to confirm but they say it is because of thier ties to the old ways"
[19:42:13] <+Antilles> "Well said Seth.. for with the information we have now, it may not be the Church's doing at all.. but the forces the old Lords were in contact with. Demon worship is a known fact."
[19:42:17] <+Kevin> "Seth, we figured that out yesterday. Charissa scryed it.
[19:42:25] <+Seth> ::Takes a sip and scrubs his unshaven face:: "Actually I think it's better that we make the bishop wait for awhile, this is all politics now."
[19:43:18] <+Antilles> "Aye, 'put him on ice' as they say."
[19:43:30] <+Charissa> "where do we see him?  Here?"
[19:43:50] <+Antilles> "There is a chamber prepared for him by the Chamberlin, Charissa."
[19:44:15] <+Charissa> "but do we want to meet him there?  I suggest we ward whichever place we meet him in"
[19:44:35] <+Seth> "I believe the chamberlain is showing him to a lesser chamber, one more suited for lesser guests, another message."
[19:44:56] <+Antilles> "Make whatever prepartions you deem necessary, Charissa."
[19:45:12] <+Antilles> "I suggest you hurry, he is on the way even now."
[19:45:27] <+Jack> "I'm with Charissa on that."
[19:45:27] <+Charissa> "Jack, would you like to assist me in the Warding?"
[19:45:48] <+Jack> "Sure, was just about to volunteer."
[19:46:12] <+Kevin> "Are we to have any other plans for this meeting?"
[19:46:26] <+Charissa> "great!  Let's get going then...I suggest we ward against deryni intrusion as well as use of magic unless it is by one of us"
[19:46:37] <+Kevin> "Am I supposed to do something other than stand there?"
[19:46:44] <+Antilles> "Do you have any suggestions Kevin?"
[19:47:17] * +Jack goes with Charissa.
[19:47:18] <+Coch> "I'm going to head down to the harbor with a few bottles and see if I can make friends with sailors from the Bishop's ship, anybody want to accompany me?"
[19:47:33] <+Kevin> "No, I do not." *to Antilles*
[19:47:53] <+Antilles> "I think it is best I remain here in the Palace, Coch."
[19:48:24] <+Coch> "Many things can be overheard on ships during a voyage"
[19:49:06] <+Antilles> "Aye, make it so, Coch. Send a messenger if you need help."
[19:49:29] <+Coch> "Will do I will take one with me"
[19:49:47] <+Kevin> "I am not much of a mingler, or I would go with you, Coch."
[19:50:00] <+Antilles> "Good luck to you Coch."
[19:50:15] <+Jack> ::to Charissa as they leave:: "You know we still need a ministry for Coch.  I think he'd make a great head of the spies."
[19:50:41] <+Seth> ::Takes a sip:: "I guess I'll set about getting the assembly done, we still need to adress the people this afternoon."
[19:50:46] * +Charissa and Jack go to the Yellow Room and prepare the Warding specific to no magic or use of deryni abilities except by the lords and lady of Warpwood
[19:50:51] <+Coch> "Not a problem Kevin, I prefer small intimate settings myself, hopefully I will find a few things out that may prove useful."
[19:51:32] * +Coch leaves the room in search of a messenger and a several bottle of strong drink
[19:51:54] <+Charissa> "aye, Jack..that would be a very useful position for him"
[19:53:38] <.Bynw> *Coch is able to find the bottles of drink from the stores within the palace and obtains a messenger to assist him
[19:54:27] <+Seth> ::Takes a long sip of his black bean tea and begins getting servents together to make preperations for the announcement this afternoon::
[19:54:33] * +Antilles moves to one of the palace servants, and whispers for him to bring Patrick to the Palace.
[19:55:05] * +Coch Coch head out towards the harbor
[19:55:32] <.Bynw> *Charissa meets up with the chamberlain in the yellow sitting room. the room has wards built into its walls ... the perfect sitting room for guests that need not be disturbed
[19:55:53] <.Bynw> *Patrick arrives soon after Antilles summons him
[19:56:24] * +Charissa and Jack add the additional touches to the built in wards
[19:56:28] <+Antilles> "ah, Captain Patrick."
[19:57:02] <+Antilles> "Captain, what is the status of the men?"
[19:58:03] <.Bynw> "The palace guard are at full strength M'Lord. 25 men in all. one third of the men are a little green but nothing that cannot be overcome"
[19:58:14] * +Antilles nods to Patrick
[19:59:15] <+Antilles> "Very good. We will be expecting company. Let the men know the Bishop will be arriving soon, and to be extra careful of anything out of the ordinary. We dont want anything to happen to the Bishop on his visit."
[20:00:00] <.Bynw> "Of M'Lord, we shall see to his safety"

[20:08:04] * Antilles goes upstairs to a sea-side balcony, and looks out to view the Bishop's ship.. and any other activity in the local surrounds.
[20:08:55] * +Kevin goes to his room and cleans up a bit, in anticipation of the bishop's arrival
[20:09:46] <.Bynw> *the bishop's ship has 2 masts - it does have a fore and aft cannon, there is somewhat a refreshing breeze on the balcony but not much more ... its hot in the summers here
[20:11:49] <Antilles> "this place could become a true focal point of military importance.. " *he says to himself, as he stares out on the water and countryside.*

[20:12:41] <.Bynw> *sweat beads on Antilles forehead as he standson the balcony

[20:13:19] * Antilles wipes sweat from his brow.
[20:13:50] * +Charissa takes one last look at the Yellow Room and sighs in satisfaction and goes to her room to change"
[20:13:56] * +Kevin goes into the main chamber to wait
[20:14:37] * +Jack goes back to the main hall. He's already in his formal outfit.
[20:14:40] * Antilles waits and watches the ship.. waiting to see the progression of the Bishop head towards the Palace.
[20:15:16] * +Seth continues getting preperations done for the announcment later this afternoon, delegating the vast majority of the work to the servants who run the palace
[20:17:44] * +Jack spends the waiting time going over some more of the books for the kingdom.
[20:18:43] <.Bynw> *the bishops procession has left the ship as soon as it docked ... a coach was alredy waiting for the bishop ... his men taking over the reigns and riding along side
[20:19:15] * Jack sets mode: +v Antilles
[20:20:04] * +Antilles turns and enters the palace from the balcony.. and heads back down to the others in the Hall.
[20:21:03] <+Antilles> "He is on his way now." *he says to everyone present in the hall* "I just saw his procession leave the ship, and they are headed our way."

[20:23:59] <+Seth> ::As the bishop arrives he stops his preperations and sends servants to bring all the High Lords of Warp Wood to the palace hall. Then heads off to the hall himself, leaving the bishop to wait in the yellow room, luggage in hand::
[20:24:22] <+Jack> "Hmmm . . . we need to provide money to fishermen to repair damaged nets.  We get tax on the fishing trade, so we'd make that investment back real fast and then some.  And the fishermen would benefit, too."
[20:24:43] <+Antilles> "Nows not the time for that, Jack."
[20:25:43] <+Jack> "Hey, can I help it if I'm thinking?"
[20:25:46] <+Antilles> "It is a good idea none the less.. but we have more pressing affairs, eh?"
[20:26:42] <+Seth> ::Enters the great hall, another fresh cup of black bean tea in his hand::
[20:26:44] * +Antilles looks for Seth
[20:26:59] <+Antilles> "Are you ready Seth?"
[20:27:27] <+Seth> ::Hefts his cup for emphasis:: "As it gets."
[20:27:34] <+Charissa> "let him wait a while longer"
[20:27:54] <+Antilles> "Who would you like to accompany you in this 'interrogation' Seth?"
[20:28:06] * +Antilles nods to Charissa
[20:28:35] <+Jack> "I still think we should all go to present a united front.  The rest of us can keep quiet."
[20:28:36] <+Antilles> " Charissa is the first and natural selection."
[20:29:08] <+Seth> "Yes. You should come too. Your a popular man and you have a reputation."
[20:29:14] <+Antilles> " Charissa's beauty will help offset any temerity the Bishop may have.. "

[20:29:49] <+Antilles> "So be it. I will go then."
[20:30:52] <+Charissa> "aye...we should all go"
[20:31:09] <+Kevin> "I concur."

[20:31:18] <+Seth> "Kevin, Coch, Jack; you should come too, but we'll have the servents announce us, you three just come in. It will keep the bishop guessing and I'd like to have everyone present so we all get what he says."

[20:31:57] <+Jack> "Okay, sounds like a plan."
[20:32:13] <+Antilles> "Very good.. I was only of the mind of not wanting to overwhelm him.. and perhaps surprising him."
[20:33:12] <+Seth> "We'll keep the attention on us. We want to keep him off guard so he might let something slip."
[20:34:48] <+Seth> ::Points to the halls servants:: "Have someone prepare some wine and bread for our guests and serve it to them and only to them once we arrive in the yellow room."
[20:34:52] <+Antilles> "I personally have no knowledge of the man.. I have no idea how he will react to us all at once. some prisoners of war aquire great resolve in the presence of only one person of authority.. others do not.."
[20:36:16] <+Seth> "If he's all smiles then beware Antilles, if he's stern it is better. Then we might see the knife comming, so to speak."
[20:36:51] <+Antilles> "I know what you mean, Seth."
[20:37:24] <+Jack> "Yeah, he'll probably offer us the carrot before the knife."
[20:37:47] <+Antilles> "A Bishop is either pious or militaristic.. there is no in between."
[20:37:55] <+Charissa> "aye...hence I will be truth reading"  "I don't care if it's really ethical or not...we need the information"
[20:39:04] <+Seth> ::Nods to Charissa:: "Try his guard first. One of them will almost certainly be a Deryni."
[20:39:51] <+Antilles> "Aye, watch them closely."
[20:40:27] <+Seth> ::extends his arm to Lady Charissa:: "Shall we?"
[20:40:47] <+Seth> "I believe the bishop should be furious by now."
[20:41:03] <+Charissa> "let's go then"
[20:41:36] * +Kevin waits for Seth, Charissa and Antilles to be announced in
[20:42:14] * +Jack waits with Kevin
[20:42:58] <.Bynw> *The chamberlain meets the Lords at the outside of the yellow sitting room. And states that the Bishop has a junior priest with him and 3 guards. He then opens the door and announces the presence of the Lords Seth, Antilles and the Lady Charissa*
[20:44:11] * +Antilles allows Seth and Charissa to go in before himself.. and he takes a position in the room behind the pair.
[20:44:16] <+Seth> ::Strides in to the Yellow room with his best grin on, leaning on his staff as he walks::
[20:45:16] * +Jack follows the leaders in and takes a seat on the side.
[20:45:35] <+Antilles> :: walks in with an air of impunity, and arrogance ::
[20:45:41] <.Bynw> *Bishop Nidor is an elderly man dressed in a simple purple cassock, denoting his rank as an ecclesiastical prince, with a skullcap and pectoral cross. he stands as the Lords enter and offers his right hand, palm down, with its amethyst ring up to Lord Seth, then Antilles and lastly Lady Charissa once they have entered the sitting room.

[20:45:45] <+Charissa> ::smiles at the Bishop::
[20:46:56] <+Seth> ::kisses the ring lightly as is custom:: "Ah your eminence."
[20:47:14] * +Charissa does same in due time
[20:47:46] * +Antilles takes the Bishop's hand, and kisses not it, but the air in front of it.
[20:49:41] * +Antilles steps back, without saying anything.
[20:50:07] <.Bynw> *the bisoph introduces the younger priest as Father Pele, his secretary and invites the lords that his visit is both formal and informal and retakes his seat in one of the overstuffed chairs inviting them to do the same

[20:51:13] * +Charissa sits in one of the chairs
[20:51:28] <+Charissa> ::facing the Bishop::
[20:51:51] <+Seth> ::remains standing, leaning on his staff. The missing two fingers on his left hand are plain to see:: "I'd rather stand your eminence, my bones are not what they used to be."
[20:52:56] <.Bynw> "That's quite alright my son" *he says* "Since I donot see the others I take Merriam and the other Lords have passed?"

[20:55:20] <+Seth> "Yes, unfortunately. This is a bit odd for us, we....well it's odd the manner that they passed. We are looking into it."
[20:55:51] * +Antilles looks at Pele and the three guards in turn; studying each one closely
[20:56:01] <+Seth> "A coincidence..I'm sure...that you have arrived just too late to talk with them."
[20:56:40] <+Seth> "But we are the High Lords now. I'm sure you've heard."
[20:57:18] <.Bynw> *Bishop Nidor* "I didn't know if they would still be with us or not. But the last communication from Lord Merriam was that I should come as soon as possible."
[20:57:20] * +Charissa watches the Bishop's face carefully
[20:57:38] * +Charissa is truthreading
[20:57:59] <+Seth> ::A smile that does not reach his eyes plays across his face:: "Oh? Did he say what you where to attend to while here then?"
[20:58:11] <.Bynw> "Now then, when is the public announcement set?" *he asks*
[21:00:38] <.Bynw> "I am to officiate the formal public announcement of your Kingships or whatever you wish to be named of course"
[21:01:23] <+Seth> ::The fake smile falters a bit then returns:: "Oh I see, that was what lord Merriam wished you to come for?"
[21:02:37] <.Bynw> "Yes. As Bishop of Warp Wood. Not only am I responsible for your spiritual well-being. I am also the one that annoints its rulers." *The Bishop states*
[21:05:06] * +Kevin sits quietly and listens
[21:06:12] <+Seth> "Oh of course your eminence. We'll make some room for you to stand behind us somewhere when we make our speeches, and when we have the time we will stop in for your blessing at your local parish." ::The smile becomes somehow wicked, and a gleam comes into his eye::

[21:10:26] <.Bynw> *Father Pele* "You are an insolent one. It is not your place to dictate such to His Grace. And another thing ... " *the young father is cut off in midsentance from Bishop Nidor*

[21:10:27] * +Antilles continues to stare at Pele and the guards
[21:11:10] * +Jack keeps a poker face through the exchange
[21:11:20] <+Seth> ::Continues to smile all during Father Pele's tiraid::

[21:13:02] <.Bynw> *Bishop Nidor* "Lord Seth. That isnt how it works. All rightful rulers of Warp Wood are annointed and crowned in a public ceremony by the Bishop of Warp Wood. That would be me currently."
[21:14:38] <.Bynw> "So in how many days time is the ceremony?"

As good shepards we gather the flock back together. Punishments happen of course, all misbehaving children get punished otherwise you spoil the child. But to murder them would be a grievous sin."

But how you address me is 'Your Grace' or 'Your Eminence' or even 'My Lord Bishop'. Otherwise you will learn of the punishments the Holy Church as for its wayward sons, regardless of their rank." *he turns back to Seth and takes his seat moving the staff aside*
[21:33:17] <+Antilles> "Your Eminence, My Lord Bishop.. Your Grace.. Please tell us why the King of Warp Wood would summon us here, in his death-throws, to take over his kingdom.. and why do all points of evidence go towards the Church as to the cause of his death?"

Only rumors of some conspiracy against the old lords due to their pagan practices, like burning of the bodies of the deceased. The Church is not involved in their deaths. Spiritually, excommunication may well indeed be lethal against the wayward souls. And an interdict is an excellent tool to bring inline those who have gone too far."
