[20:01:19] <+Jack> "Well . . . we know who was at the receiving end of the curse.  We need to find the cause, though."
[20:01:40] * +Seth walks to one of the servents and takes him by the shoulder whispering in his ear roughly

[20:12:35] <+Seth> "Merriam, that is his name correct? He choose a strange time to make a rather hasty exit from our presense."
[20:13:29] <+Seth> "I think it is best if we restrict their movements, I acted immediatly because I didn't have time to argue."

[20:16:41] * +Seth throws open the doors to the outer hall and stands to one side taking cover to the side of the door

[20:17:15] <+Seth> ::Peaks into the hall towards the sounds of battle::

[20:18:40] <.Bynw> *the sounds of swords clashing can be heard up on the 2nd level around the stairs*
[20:18:58] <+Antilles> (( if I can see nothing from my vantage point, I run in the great hall.. and move towards the sounds of battle ))

[20:19:56] * +Kevin has quit IRC (Connection reset by peer)
[20:20:25] <.Bynw> *on the balcony several palace guards engaged in fight against lord langen
[20:21:03] * +Coch turning to Charissa and says "Should we move to a safer location or investigate?"
[20:21:06] <+Antilles> (( If I can get up there from teh great hall, I do so.. if not, I take the quickest route up ))
[20:21:18] * Kevin has joined #Teara-Adan
[20:21:22] <+Charissa> "I am going to stay right here"

[20:22:52] * +Jack moves toward the balcony following Antilles, sword drawn. "Hey, what's going on here?"

[20:23:23] <+Antilles> "Lord Langen.. drop your weapon!" :: he yells as he mounts the balcony ::
[20:24:40] * +Antilles holds out his sword in a threating manner to Lord Langen
[20:24:46] * +Coch continues to accompany Charissa
[20:24:49] * +Seth follows, but from behind the others
[20:25:20] <+Antilles> ?? what does Langen do ??
[20:25:41] <.Bynw> *Lord Langen looks at the new Lords as the come up the stairs behind the palace guards and in a rush pushes past the guards and leaps off the balcony
[20:26:00] <Kevin> ?? Is there stairs ??
[20:26:10] * +Antilles leaps off as well, trying to score a hit on Langen if possible

[20:27:38] * +Jack goes to the edge of the balcony.

[20:32:34] <+Seth> ::Turns on the remaining palace guards and begins shouting orders:: "We have Langen in hand, go, reinforce the other guards and bring to heel the two remaining lords. I'd like them alive."
[20:32:56] * +Antilles looks at him, closely.. (( sense motive for a bluff of feigning injury ? ))
[20:33:47] <+Jack> ::yells:: "Yeah, make that alive double for me.  No killing them, okay"
[20:34:02] <.Bynw> *The palace guards move off under their orders
[20:34:16] * +Antilles pokes at Langen with his sword...

[20:40:59] <.Bynw> *Lord Langen lies on his stomach, his sword hand pinned under him. and the servants looking around at the happenings*
[20:41:17] <+Seth> ::Chuckles:: "I hope your not barking at me 'lord' Antillies. I'd be force to embarrass you."
[20:41:31] <+Seth> ::Rises and faces Antillies and the others::
[20:41:40] <+Seth> "He's beyond saving."
[20:41:55] * +Antilles wipes his blade on Langen's cloak, and sheaths it.
[20:42:44] * +Coch hearing the clash of blades no longer ventures out to see what has transpired
[20:43:06] <+Antilles> "One of these days, we are going to have a serious 'conversation', Seth."
[20:43:19] <+Seth> "Let's get rid of this body, quickly."
[20:43:50] <+Antilles> "very well"
[20:44:14] <+Jack> "What??  Get rid of the body?  Like we're common criminals?"
[20:44:20] * +Antilles calls over a pair of man-servants to bear the body away.
[20:44:35] <+Seth> ::Points to one of the servents:: "You. Does the palace have hogs stabled in it?"
[20:44:48] <+Antilles> "the curse, Jack.. the curse."
[20:44:53] <.Bynw> *servant* "Aye Lord"
[20:45:27] * Kevin continues towards the other Lords locations
[20:45:29] * +Coch strolls up to Antilles and Seth and asks "What happened?"
[20:46:02] <+Seth> ::Moves close to Kevin and leans in to whisper in his ear:: "You look like a person who has...disposed of bodies before. Can you see that the lord is feed to the pigs?"
[20:46:46] <+Jack> "Now wait, we do NOT know that Langen is evil.  He and the others could have been 'responsible' for the curse due to inaction, or even good deeds."
[20:46:51] <.Bynw> *three other servants come over and lift up the body of Lord Langen. The Lord's chest and gut are split open by his own sword*
[20:46:57] <+Antilles> "And that will let us know if the plague will spread. If the swine fall ill, or die, well. You know what that means."
[20:47:06] <+Seth> ::Still whispering:: "See that his cloths are burned and his other possessions lost in a very secret place."
[20:48:12] <+Coch> "Wait a minute, what plague?"
[20:48:24] * +Antilles eyes Coch
[20:48:34] <+Seth> ::Turns on Antillies:: "You fool, stop your tongue for one moment."
[20:48:55] <+Antilles> "The wasting plague of the nobles, Coch."
[20:48:59] <+Seth> "You've done your...job." ::grimaces:: "Let me do mine."
[20:49:18] <+Coch> "I'm the fool, you've been here for a day and have already killed a blood Lord and I'm the fool?"
[20:49:22] <+Seth> ::Simply shakes his head in disbelief at Abtillies::
[20:50:02] <+Antilles> "Bah!"
[20:50:38] <.Bynw> *Lord Langen's sword drops to the stone floor with a clash as the servants continue to move his body*
[20:50:54] * +Coch mumbles to himself, "I'm going to regret this"
[20:51:35] <+Antilles> "Take that with you, man-servant" :: indicating the sword of Langen ::
[20:51:35] <+Seth> ::Moves to the servants:: "Show me to those hogs and bring the body."
[20:52:22] <.Bynw> *the servants take Lord Seth out towards were the hogs are kept*
[20:52:34] * +Antilles follows Seth
[20:52:48] * +Jack goes to find the other lords before they're killed and their bodies desecrated as well.
[20:53:29] <+Seth> "Drop the body."
[20:54:12] <+Seth> ::Picks up a bit of mud and smears each servent on the forehead with just a bit of it::
[20:55:15] <+Seth> "I am a sorcerer of great power, if you speak of anything you see tonight a terrible curse will befall you and your family, no go, return to the hall. You will all be rewarded for your service tonight."
[20:55:43] * +Antilles waits for the servants to depart before speaking.
[20:56:10] <+Antilles> "What are you going to do Seth?"
[20:57:32] * +Coch goes to his room and packs his gear
[20:58:41] <+Seth> ::Rounds on Antillies in a rage:: "I'm cleaning up your mess! You do realize that the people are loyal to this man and not to the paper we signed. Who knows what they will do to you and us! And thank you very much for telling the servents that Warp Wood is cursed and a plague is here, it will be all over the country side by morning."
[20:59:19] <+Seth> "You may have started a riot and gotten us all hanged!"
[20:59:30] <+Antilles> "Do you not think they already know?"
[20:59:49] <+Seth> "Why take the chance?"
[20:59:51] <+Antilles> "Only a fool would not notice their condition."
[21:00:38] <+Seth> "Who knows what they thought, but they DO think a plague is upon them and a curse on this whole place now."
[21:01:05] <+Seth> "They migth riot, they might desert, they might hang us and figure to solve the problem that way."
[21:01:07] <+Antilles> "Then stop yelling and think. We can use this to our advantage."
[21:01:45] <+Seth> "I am thinking, the body gets fed to the pigs and the servents get a one way ticket to lands far from here."
[21:02:03] <+Antilles> "All we have to say is that killing them will stop the plague, since only they were infected."
[21:02:05] <+Seth> "Now help me get his things and throw him to the pigs."
[21:02:17] <.Bynw> ? who is back at the great hall 
[21:02:27] <+Antilles> "fine."
[21:02:35] * +Jack is looking for the other two lords.
[21:02:39] <+Seth> "They don't trust us Antillies, we are no one to them. This man is a nobel, a leader."
[21:02:41] * +Antilles helps Seth feed the remains of Langen to the hogs
[21:03:04] <+Seth> "We have nothing but paper, no loyalty."
[21:03:41] <+Seth> "And now we have no idea who worked with Langen. We have no idea who could be comming for us in the night."
[21:04:11] <+Seth> ::Takes Langens cloths and possessions and feeds the rest to the hogs::
[21:04:31] <+Antilles> "Then we must set things right by stopping the true source of the plague... the other lords are surely alive. We must question the guard that fought Langen, and find out why that happened in the first place."
[21:04:56] <+Antilles> *guards*
[21:05:22] <+Seth> "Lets hope they didn't get away, or it maybe a civil war."
[21:05:29] * Kevin sees Jack and says, "Lord Scheidt is in the swamp, but I did get this one."
[21:05:30] <+Antilles> (( brb ))
[21:05:52] <Kevin> "We need to find the rest, and do something about him."
[21:06:41] <+Jack> "Well, we're not even sure what the situation is, Kevin."
[21:06:59] <+Antilles> "Then lets find them now, Seth!"
[21:07:21] <Kevin> "Right. What else can we do, though?"
[21:07:35] * +Antilles goes back to the great hall, and seeks out the men who fought with Langen.
[21:07:50] <+Seth> "I'm waiting here and making sure the hogs finish, then I have to burn the clothing and destroy the rest."
[21:08:14] <+Antilles> "Fine!" :: he yells over his shoulder to Seth ::
[21:09:06] <.Bynw> *back in the great hall, Kevin and Jack have Lord Merriam in custody.*
[21:10:01] <+Antilles> ?? what of the original combatant guards, are they to be found ??
[21:10:17] <Kevin> "Lord Scheidt is in the swamp..."
[21:10:44] <+Jack> "Merriam, have a seat if you want."
[21:11:05] <.Bynw> *some of them yes and more of them are returning reporting that Lord Scheidt jumped to his death from a window into the swamp*
[21:11:49] <+Antilles> ?? then the palace guards are still reporting to us as their commanders ??
[21:12:45] <+Jack> "Kevin, Merriam didn't try to suicide to avoid custody?"
[21:13:33] <Kevin> "I have little clue... I found him in custody, and brought him here."
[21:15:34] <Kevin> "We need to get all the Lords in here before Antilles kills, or Seth decides for us."
[21:15:42] * +Antilles summons the most senior guard to him.
[21:16:06] <+Seth> ::Walks in carrying a load of cloths:: "Decides what?"
[21:16:50] <+Jack> "Decides what to do without getting agreement from the rest of us."
[21:16:55] <+Antilles> "Where is the Captain of the Guard? Who is most senior here? Report to me!"
[21:17:58] * +Antilles looks about at the guards.. looking for one of rank
[21:17:58] * Kevin calls some servants over to get Coch and Charissa

[21:19:20] <+Seth> ::Smiles at Jack:: "Someone had to get something done."
[21:19:34] <+Antilles> "Whats your name, soldier?"
[21:19:55] <.Bynw> "Patrick M'Lord"
[21:19:59] <+Seth> ::Throws the wadded up  cloths in the fire of the hall::
[21:20:35] <Kevin> "If you would of given us at least a minute to discuss..."
[21:20:39] <+Antilles> "Very well, Patrick.. I want to call all hands to the palace. Bring all the guards back in."
[21:21:02] <+Antilles> "Go, now."
[21:21:20] <.Bynw> "Yes M'Lord" *he goes off*
[21:21:33] <+Seth> "A minute? A minute to allow the lords to escape you mean?"
[21:22:30] <.Bynw> *Lord Merriam sits quietly between Jack and Kevin where he was escorted*
[21:22:31] <Kevin> "Because they were aware that we scryed?
[21:22:54] <+Jack> "We scryed before and they didn't run away."
[21:23:04] <Kevin> "Exactly."
[21:23:21] <+Seth> ::To Jack as he watches Merriam:: "You didn't have me."
[21:23:28] <Kevin> "I don't know much of magic, but I think it would defeat the purpose if they could feel it..."
[21:23:38] <+Seth> ::Moves to Merriam::
[21:24:35] <+Antilles> "Seth, we must now make our bonds solid, or, there will be civil war. will you put away your differences, and help me?"
[21:24:43] * +Jack also moves to Merriam.
[21:24:55] <Kevin> "How about we all agree?"
[21:25:10] <+Antilles> "that is my thoughts, Kevin"
[21:25:14] <Kevin> "Help each other, or something?"
[21:25:26] <+Seth> "I have no diffrences with any of you yet, though I wonder just how many of you where in this with the former lords..."
[21:25:30] <Kevin> "Sounded pretty self-centered to me..."

[21:26:16] <+Antilles> "Then allow me to tell you how all of this started, Seth, before you go on with Merriam"
[21:26:19] <Kevin> "And I wonder why the servant hasn't brought the other lords here...

[21:26:42] <+Seth> ::Sees Coch leaving:: "And where do you think your going?"
[21:27:05] <+Antilles> "Indeed. where do you go, Coch?"
[21:28:05] <+Jack> "The older lords are the ones who turned Warp Wood over to us.  They didn't need to do that.  They could have reneged on the King's promise, but they didn't."
[21:28:48] <+Antilles> "They approached me firsthand, and I in turn led the others here.."
[21:32:15] <+Jack> "If they wanted the kingdom for themselves, they could have had it by now, so what reason would they have for causing the King's death, then turning over the kingdom and leaving.  It doesn't make sense your way."
[21:32:18] <+Antilles> "My father had just made the announcement of the formation of the League of Deban.. he became King over Tical, Sicious, and New Hollydale, and Deban of course. Lord Merriam came to me as I stood with Jack, and our Lady here."
[21:33:23] <+Antilles> "Merriam asked me to journey to Warp Wood, Seth, and to help secure the kingdom."
[21:33:43] <+Antilles> "The rest you know, mostly.."
[21:34:22] <+Seth> ::Shrugs:: "I do not have any answers. All I know is that I ordered these men detained and they attacked the palace guards to keep that from happening. Not one but all three of them did. Then two of them jumped to apparent suicide."
[21:35:07] <+Jack> ::to Merriam:: "You attacked the guards, too?  Why?"
[21:35:14] <+Antilles> "That is why I summoned all the palace guards back here.. we must first secure what they know of the events, then decide what we will do next."
[21:35:42] <.Bynw> *Lord Merriam* "I attacked no guards." *he coughs*
[21:36:34] <+Jack> "Okay" ::turns to Seth:: "Who told you Merriam attacked the guards?"
[21:36:35] <+Seth> "It's true that Antillies struck, but Langen jumped on his own sword. That is why he died. No body killed him, he killed himself. I think it's un-likely that two lords accidently fell to their deaths."
[21:37:04] <+Seth> "No one, Jack."
[21:37:34] <+Antilles> "I only sought to arrest Langen.. his death was not intentional by me."
[21:38:21] * +Antilles turns to Merriam
[21:38:23] <Kevin> "Well, it happened."
[21:38:29] <+Seth> "I too only asked that they be arrested. I had planned on keeping them in their own rooms under guard, for questioning."
[21:38:42] <+Antilles> "You brought me here.. why is this happening, Lord Merriam?"
[21:38:45] <.Bynw> *Lord Merriam goes into a caughing fit and collapeses out of the chair to the floor*
[21:39:10] <+Antilles> "Where is the King, Merriam!"
[21:39:18] <+Antilles> !?
[21:39:22] <+Jack> "Well, this whole thing went . . . Merriam, are you kay?"
[21:40:10] <+Seth> ::Kneels beside Merriam and places his hands on his forehead::
[21:40:36] <.Bynw> *Merriam caughs* "The King is dead. Long live the Kings" *he forhead is burning with fever*
[21:40:41] <+Seth> ::He begins muttering strange words under his breath::
[21:41:16] <+Antilles> "Damn Hades."
[21:41:30] <+Antilles> "what does he say Seth?"
[21:41:34] <+Jack> "Seth, what are you doing?"
[21:42:15] <+Seth> "Trying to find out what is wrong with him, perhaps I can help fix it, stop it, something..."
[21:42:45] <+Jack> ::nods:: 
[21:42:50] * +Antilles stands silent,, only watching and hoping Seth can do something to help Merriam
[21:43:18] <+Seth> ::His eyes take a distant gaze for a moment and then return:: "He's dieing..."
[21:44:08] <+Jack> "Yeah, I can see that.  No way to help?"
[21:44:22] * +Antilles turns his back.. he grips the pommel of his greatsword...
[21:46:11] <+Antilles> "when the guards return, we must be honest with them.. they deserve the truth."
[21:46:35] <Kevin> "Well, we need to have some idea what is going on first!"
[21:47:29] * Kevin turns to Merriam
[21:47:56] <Kevin> "Did you, in any way, "curse" yourself?"
[21:47:59] <+Antilles> "whats going on.." :: he says quietly :: "is that we are now at the place where we will either capture them by their hearts, or lose our lives as the destroyers of theirs"
[21:49:18] * +Antilles looks at Kevin with great sadness.
[21:49:44] * Kevin looks back at antilles, with no expression
[21:49:45] <.Bynw> *Merriam* "I am dying you fool. Warp Wood is yours..." *he caughs into a fit again*
[21:50:32] <+Seth> "I don't know how much longer Merriam can hold out. I'm going to attempt to heal him. Lady Carrisa, can you help me?"
[21:51:10] <.Bynw> *Charissa* "Yes I can do what I can"
[21:52:16] <+Seth> ::Pulls a utility dagger from his boot and cuts both his hand and Merriam's very shallowly:: "Do what you must then to join our efforts."
[21:53:05] <+Seth> ::Clasps hands with Merriam and begins to hum and rock back and forth as he kneels::
[21:53:28] <.Bynw> *Charissa takes ahold of Lord Merriam shoulders to steady him and closes her eyes*
[21:54:07] <+Seth> ::His other hand pulls an arcane symbol in silver from one of many of his pockets and holds it tightly::
[21:55:33] <+Seth> ::The rooms seems to get brighter, though it may just be imagination. A wash of contentment and peace fills everyone in the room::
[21:55:40] <.Bynw> *his fever is burning stronger and his eyes are beinning to gloss over*
