[19:50:53] <.Bynw> ** High Queen. No less than a dozen suitors
[19:50:55] <.Bynw> ** have come seeking her hand, some of them
[19:50:56] <.Bynw> ** from neighboring territories.

[19:51:01] <.Bynw> ** needs, inspecting the condition of the palace

[19:51:04] <.Bynw> ** And checking on the infrastructure of
[19:51:05] <.Bynw> ** commerace and the spiritual needs of all.

[19:53:48] <.Bynw> *the early fall weather shows signs of cooling, but it is little consolation this far south as the heat and humidity is always present to some degree year round*
[19:54:26] <+Charissa> "aye.  I learnt how many men find me beautiful...hahaha"
[19:54:27] <+Antilles> *Once inside, he goes searching for Seth*
[19:57:10] <+Seth> ::The door flys open with a soft bang as he enters the grand hall, drink in hand. He seems to have had a few drinks already::
[19:57:25] <+Antilles> *Upon seeing the Queen and Kevin, he goes over to have a chat with them .. putting off his hunt for Seth, who seems to have found them*
[19:57:35] <+Seth> "Good evening my fellow Lords and your Majesty!"
[19:58:01] <+Antilles> "Greetings, Seth.."
[19:58:08] <+Charissa> "good evening Seth, you seem in good spirits" ::Charissa smiles::
[19:58:52] <+Seth> "I am your majesty." ::he bellows as he raises his drink in salute to Queen Charissa::
[19:59:07] <+Antilles> "My Queen, Lord Kevin." *offers a slight bow*
[19:59:35] <+Kevin> "Lord Antilles! How do you fair today?"
[20:00:14] * +Coch enters the grand hall and walks up to the Queen and the other Lords
[20:00:16] <+Seth> "I have procured us a hefty amount of coin to help finance our new trade road." he says with a grin and a drink of his wine::
[20:00:51] <+Antilles> "Not bad, Kevin. Yourself?"
[20:01:07] * +Antilles looks at Seth quickly
[20:01:24] <+Antilles> "Oh? How so, Lord Seth?"
[20:01:24] <.Bynw> *the surveyors are currently looking for the best place to build the trade road, there are several lesser roads currently in existance that the trade road may end up following*
[20:01:38] <+Coch> "From what merchant did you recieve financing Lord Seth?"
[20:01:59] * +Kevin looks to Seth as well, not replying to Antilles
[20:03:30] <+Seth> ::Leans on his staff as he speaks:: "Adrian Sprax is his name. He is a well connected man here in Warp Wood and beyond our borders. I have choosen him as my advisor as well; to aid me in gaining the rest of the needed funds, lord Antilles."
[20:03:53] <+Charissa> "I have heard good things about Sprax"
[20:03:55] <+Antilles> "I'm glad to see my vision coming to life.. good work Seth."
[20:04:40] <+Seth> ::Raises his gobblet is salute to Antilles and takes a drink::
[20:04:41] * +Jack pokes his head in. "I heard voices. Am I late for staff meeting?"
[20:05:55] <+Charissa> "no, you're just in time Jack!"
[20:05:56] <+Antilles> "Not at all Jack. In fact, your just in time to hear the good news."
[20:06:10] * Retrieving #Teara-Adan modes...
[20:06:13] * Bynw sets mode: +m
[20:07:12] * +Antilles indicates for Jack to come in
[20:07:47] * +Jack enters. "Okay, what's the good news?"
[20:08:18] <+Antilles> "Seth hit the motherload. The road is being built."
[20:08:46] <+Jack> "That's great!  What are the terms?"
[20:09:19] <+Antilles> "Mabye he should be the one to tell us all."
[20:09:30] <+Antilles> *Maybe*
[20:12:49] * +Coch retrieves an opened bottle of wine and a goblet
[20:12:54] <+Seth> ::Continues to lean on his staff:: "Well Adrian Sprax will not be able to fund the entire road himself. We will need additional funds or a significant raise in taxes. Adrian only requests that he have our ear in the future, free passage on the road once it is built, and leave to build a chapter house near the docks to base his trade in when he has the captital for it."
[20:13:56] <+Jack> "That sounds reasonable."
[20:15:02] <+Charissa> "aye.  But I would prefer to find an alternate avenue to raise the funding necessary.  I would rather not have our beloved subject hate us just yet."
[20:15:21] <+Seth> ::Nods as he takes a small drink:: "Adrian has impressed me as a very resonable man. He understands the benifit to himself, over time, in having a thriving economy here in Warp Wood."
[20:15:51] <+Kevin> "Did you speak to any other merchants?"
[20:15:56] <+Jack> "Well, doesn he have any business contacts we can try to enlist?"
[20:17:05] <+Seth> ::Nods to Charissa:: "I feel the same, we will already be raising taxes to support General Antilles new army, we can't over burden the people, your Majesty."
[20:17:10] <+Antilles> "My Queen.. forgive me for being so forward, but ah... what of these suitors that have been visiting with you? It could be that an arrangement between Warp Wood and other city-states could become profitable as well."
[20:17:52] <+Charissa> "if I deem any one of them worthy, yes.  But so far they have been lying human toadies"
[20:18:19] <+Antilles> "Well, if not marriage, perhaps as allies."
[20:18:22] <+Jack> "Welcome to the upper crust . . . "
[20:19:00] <+Charissa> "Antilles, I would still prefer truth to lies, especially in allies"
[20:19:07] <+Seth> "I have not had time to contact additional merchants Lord Kevin; and Adrian is acting like a figure head for many of Warp Woods merchants Lord Jack, we will have to look to negotiations with other merchants domestic or abroad for additional funds"
[20:20:32] <+Jack> "Well, maybe it's time we took our trip, then."
[20:21:15] <+Seth> "I don't see it as a major problem. I'm sure a little leg work and hand shaking will provide us with what we need, esspecially now that we have enough to start the road."
[20:21:32] <+Charissa> "agreed Lord Seth"
[20:22:28] <+Kevin> "Do you know how much it is to cost?"
[20:23:08] <+Seth> "I leave the figures to my accounting staff Lord kevin."
[20:23:21] <+Antilles> "Seth, something I want you to work out along with Jack while your in negotiations. I want to equip the future army here with rifles. See what you can find out for me on that."
[20:23:22] <+Seth> ::Takes a drink::
[20:23:25] <+Jack> "I'm ready to go on the road when anyone else is."
[20:23:45] <+Kevin> "From what I understand, we don't know where it is."
[20:23:53] <+Kevin> "It is being scouted now."
[20:25:34] <+Charissa> "Once we can decide on the route and build the roads the people will flock to Warpwood"
[20:26:05] <+Charissa> "I suggest we open some scholae here also."
[20:26:36] <+Seth> ::Nods to Antilles:: "A tall order General. I will see what I can do, but at this time if I could upgrade  a small portion of our archers it would be a mighty victory. Utha is snatching up every firearm it can, and what scraps are left are taken up by the various overlords here in the Territories."
[20:28:41] <+Antilles> "Understood Seth. But, see if you can learn anything on it."
[20:28:50] <+Seth> "A fine Idea your Majesty, but at this time I don't think many could afford to attend. It might be something for the future."
[20:29:27] <+Charissa> "of course, in the future.  But we need to plan for the future"
[20:29:31] <+Jack> "Yeah, I agree, Queen Charissa.  We need to develop our resources, and the minds of our people could be a valuable resource.""
[20:30:16] <+Charissa> "we can always start with our locals...see which ones of the population can be worthy students and then teachers."
[20:30:39] <+Kevin> "Whats the Deryni population?"
[20:31:02] <+Jack> "Yes, it doesn't have to be an expesive proposition with fancy buildings."
[20:33:14] <+Seth> ::Takes a small drink and motions to one of the servants:: "Please fetch Master Adrian Sprax and request his presence here in the grand hall. I'd like to introduce him to the High Lords and her Majesty."
[20:34:35] * Coch opens the bottle of wine and offer Seth a refill, "More wine Seth?"
[20:37:45] <+Seth> ::Accepts Coch's offer with a grin, waving him to fill his gobblet as he talks:: "I'm afraid a Magical academy requires a significant investment of capitol my Lords. Books, lab equipment, exotic ingrediants, and at leased one dedicated teacher. That is why Magical academies are scarce and generally VERY costly to attend."
[20:38:07] * +Coch pours Seth a full goblet and then fills his own goblet , taking a deep drink

[20:43:57] <.Bynw> *after about a quarter hour, Master Adrian Sprax arrives into the throne room with a bow to the Queen and a nod of respect to the other royals. he is a near middle aged man with short cut black hair and hazel eyes with a broad shouldered build*
[20:45:23] <+Kevin> "Hello, Master Adrian."
[20:45:54] <+Seth> ::Shakes hands and offers Adrian a gobblet of wine in greeting:: "Master Adrian. May I present the High Lords of Warp Wood and her Majesty, Queen of Warp Wood."
[20:46:11] <+Antilles> "Greetins, Mr. Sprax."
[20:46:20] <+Antilles> *Greetings*
[20:46:39] <+Seth> "I have informed them of your generous contribution to our project and your appointment as my advisor."
[20:47:01] <+Jack> "Good to meet you, Master Sprax."
[20:47:16] <+Kevin> "And I am greatful."
[20:47:38] <.Bynw> *Adrian accepts the gobblet of wine* "It will be a welcomed addition to our country. It is an honor to serve in any way I can."
[20:50:51] <+Kevin> "I hope that the general populace feels the same way as you."
[20:51:09] <+Seth> ::Nods:: "We are very grateful for your contributions to the new trade road. We have been discussing ways to suppliment it by approching additional honest merchants for funds, so that we will not have to over burden the people of Warp Wood with Taxes. Do you have any suggestions?"
[20:52:15] <.Bynw> "I'm sure I could convince the guilds i work with for contributions."
[20:52:58] <+Seth> ::Raises his gobblet in salute and takes a drink::
[20:54:21] <+Charissa> "that contribution would be richly rewarded, Sir Adrian"
[20:55:10] <+Jack> "Is that a hint?  I think it's a good one if it is."
[20:55:21] <+Coch> "My Lords should we spread the word that we are a business friendly kingdom and entice businesses to relocate here in Warp Wood?"
[20:55:56] <+Charissa> "aye Jack"
[20:56:09] <+Seth> ::Nods:: "Good idea Lord Coch, but I would suggest we wait until the road is near complete."
[20:56:19] <+Charissa> "we should Lord Coch"
[20:56:34] <+Coch> "Agreed, the road must be finished first"
[20:57:09] <+Antilles> "I would think that business of all types would be welcome here in Warp Wood, provided men such as Adrian were in control of them."
[20:57:34] <+Kevin> "But, we could get it in their minds now. Tell them of how great we shall be.
[20:57:37] <+Kevin> "
[21:00:25] <+Antilles> "Perhaps we should even make accomodations for such merchants.. to make things easier for them."
[21:02:13] <+Charissa> "aye.  The stage is set, the band start playing..." 
[21:02:34] <+Charissa> "we need to set the stage for Warp Wood's success"
[21:06:21] <+Antilles> "Perhaps we are seeing some of that future right here, my Queen."
[21:08:32] <.Bynw> *Adrian thanks Seth for the wine and requests to take his leave as there is much work to do.*
[21:09:18] * +Antilles bids the merchantman Adrian farewell
[21:09:28] <+Seth> ::Leaning on his staff he nods to Adrian:: "Of course Master Adrian. Keep me informed."
[21:09:55] <+Antilles> "Go well, Master Sprax"
[21:10:27] <+Coch> "Are there any debts other kingdoms owe that we may collect or favors we may call in?"
[21:11:38] <+Antilles> "Hmm, the Queen should be aware of such things, Coch."
[21:11:58] <+Seth> ::Returns his attention to the high lords as the merchant takes his leave:: "I'm interested in the harbor. If the trade road comes in, what shape is our harbor in to handle the influx of business?"
[21:13:28] <+Jack> "It could use a dredging."
[21:13:46] <+Antilles> "I've been told the whole estruary is more muck than anything else Seth. I should think it would need to be peered up."
[21:14:19] <+Antilles> "Yes, Jack is right.. a deep water channel would be prime."
[21:14:27] <+Seth> "And I suggest that, when the road is well underway, we dispatch news to our neighbors so they may link their roads with it and stretch the road inland through the other provinces. Maybe as far as your fathers capital itself Lord Antillies." ::he says the last with a smirk::
[21:14:55] <+Antilles> "If I have my way Seth, the road will roll right over my father."
[21:16:18] <+Charissa> ::Charissa beckons one of the guards::  "Please have the Seneschal attend us with the figures that the neighboring kingdoms owe us and we them."
[21:16:48] <+Seth> ::Nods at the news of the harbor:: "Perhaps it is time we contacted the Druids in earnest then. They can greatly help us with both the road and the Harbor I think. And after our nod to them at the corination I believe they owe us a little, let's see if they wish to continue to establish good relations?"
[21:18:03] <+Antilles> "I think the druid's magic would serve us well."
[21:18:13] <+Charissa> "aye"
[21:18:16] <+Kevin> "Aye."
[21:18:36] * +Jack nods in agreement
[21:19:15] <.Bynw> *the Seneschal arrives within a few minutes of his summons*
[21:20:43] <+Seth> "Now then we should give Father Pele his chance. Perhaps the Church can be persuaded to divert some of it's trade through the harbor and in return we can grant some land to his holiness to be sanctified and prepared for churches?"
[21:20:43] <+Charissa> "Thank you for attending us so promptly, my lord.  Can you furnish us with the figures that the surrounding kingdoms owe use and we owe them?"
[21:24:04] <.Bynw> "I can have the tallys by morning for you your Majesty"
[21:24:19] <+Charissa> "that would be good, thank you."
[21:28:02] <+Seth> ::Waves another of the servents over:: "Please invite the.....I'm not sure of the title, master, arch, maestro, of the local druids to speak with us at his earliest possible convienence."
[21:28:29] <+Antilles> ::Stands and bows to the lords and Queen:: "With your permission, Im off to look at one of the old lords residences."
[21:28:44] <+Charissa> "permission granted"
[21:29:02] * +Antilles bows again and leaves the Main Hall.
