Damage Reduction of Armor

Armor not only makes it harder for one's character to be hit.  It also reduces the damage that is received from a successful hit.

The amount of damage absorbed by the armor is equal to its defense adjustment bonus plus any magical enhancement bonus.  On a critical hit, no damage is absorbed by the armor.
