[19:49:57] * +Nath sits wacthing the recovering anadari; espceially Regan.
[19:50:14] * +Regan gets up and stands. His legs are stiff and his stomach is still a little unsettled. "Thanks Llanth, nice to be back."
[19:51:10] * +Llanth walks up to Daine.
[19:51:11] <~Bynw> *the rest of the patrol has tied there horse outside in various spots, not corralling them. they periodically go out on patrols into the woods
[19:51:14] * +Regan waks over to the cave entrance.
[19:51:20] <+Llanth> "What's on your mind there?"
[19:51:21] * +Taenor hobbles over to Daine after a few minutes and punches him in the shoulder. "Quit scowling. It makes you look like the wild savage you are."
[19:52:15] * +Nath gets up and moves to Regan "Knos, go check with Rus."
[19:52:16] * +Regan scans the terrain below while listening to his companions.

[19:52:48] <+Daine> ::Eyes Taenor and Llanth for a moment:: "Good to see your weak constitution hasn't killed you yet Pagan. It seems our plans are over and done with."
[19:52:52] * +Knos gets up "Aye Captain"
[19:53:12] * +Knos exits the cave
[19:54:18] * +Regan looks at the horses the patrol rides
[19:55:18] * +Knos noting Regan's look "Yes they be a fine breed! I would not trade Crusher for anyother!"
[19:55:34] <+Nath> :: to Regan:: "Excuse me sir, I have a few questions if you feel you are up to it."
[19:56:25] <+Regan> "One moment please" to Nath
[19:56:44] * +Nath nods politely
[19:56:54] <+Taenor> "And it seems we need to increase what little intelligence lies in your primitive brain. ::In Valmaari:: We will continue with our plans, despite these interlopers that have aided us. The druid slaughtered an entire camp. These warriors won't deter him if he is truely mad. ::"
[19:56:59] * +Regan takes a breath and lets out a high pitched whistle
[19:58:08] <~Bynw> *one of the horses further down from the cave seems to react to the whistle and is now being soothed by one of the newcomers
[19:58:39] <+Daine> ::In Valmari:: "And how long do we wait then?"
[19:58:53] * +Regan smiles and starts down the cave path
[19:59:20] <+Taenor> ::Valmari again:: "Until they leave, or we do. Or until the druid attacks. Whichever comes first."

[20:04:12] <+Daine> ::In Valmari, with a bewildered look at Taenor:: "I would think it would be our duty to protect them. I wonder what Master Nym would say."
[20:04:52] * +Risira stirs and wakes up, looking a little bewildered at first.
[20:05:14] <+Nath> ::In solice to Regan:: "That is the horse that Ceadda rides."
[20:06:14] * +Regan runs up to Rus and the horse. Then stops dead in his tracks as Nath's words hit him.
[20:06:39] <+Taenor> ::After concentrating for a few minutes, in valmari:: "True. We might need to protect them. The best way would be to tell them to go home. Oh well. We've both protected people before. Let's stop talking in your heathen tongue before the others get suspicious, brother."
[20:07:11] * +Regan spins on his heels and says with perfect clarity. "Ceadda?

[20:08:11] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "Yes. Perhaps Ceadda can tell you about the horse in exchange for some answers from you."
[20:08:46] <+Daine> ::Nods to Taenor and looks to the back of the cave as Risira rises. He strides over and takes a knee at her side::
[20:09:14] <+Daine> ::In Cana:: "You speak Cana?"
[20:09:26] * +Risira shakes her head in confusion.
[20:09:31] * +Regan covertly drops a knife into his hand from up his sleeve.
[20:10:36] <+Rus> ::In Cana:: "This horse appears to know you."
[20:10:36] <+Regan> "Where is this Ceadda now." said with a stern expression
[20:10:56] <+Daine> ::Nods to Risira in resignation, then points to himself:: "Daine." ::He reaches to his back nearby and digs out a water skin, then offering it to Risira::
[20:11:06] * +Regan looks at Rus in puzzlement
[20:11:18] * +Taenor follows Daine, and touches one hand to his head, and points to Risira's, trying to impart an intention of mind-to-mind contact.
[20:11:37] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "Ceadda is in the woods patrolling. Rus said that teh horse appears to know you."
[20:11:44] * +Risira takes the waterskin from Daine and drinks, then nods to Taenor.

[20:12:17] <+Regan> "Ah. Sorry, I seem to have missplaced something."

[20:13:59] * +Nath raises his voice in Cana "Ceadda! I think one of the strangers wishes to speak you! PLease report and have Rus take your route!"

[20:15:10] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "Do you speak Cana? Ceadda only speaks Cana."
[20:16:13] <+Daine> ::Nods to Risira:: "Your welcome."
[20:16:30] * +Taenor makes contact a little roughly, but imparts what he intended, and pulls out
[20:16:56] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "er sorry That is Solice not Cana."
[20:17:00] <~Bynw> *Caedda comes running up from the forest with one of the other men* ::in Solice:: "Yes Lord?"
[20:17:04] * +Risira nods to Taenor, smiles shyly, and rolls her shields smoothly back up.
[20:17:39] <+Daine> ::Stands and offers his hand to Risira:: "Your companions are outside."
[20:17:53] * +Risira rises from the cave floor with Daine's assistance and goes to speak to Nath.
[20:18:00] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "This gentleman is a survivor of an attack and claims the horse is his."
[20:18:21] * +Regan eyes Ceadda warily
[20:18:21] * +Taenor blushes a little and grins to her.
[20:18:29] * +Risira sees that Nath is occupied and waits nearby patiently.
[20:18:52] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "Excuse sir your name was?"
[20:19:10] <+Regan> "Regan."
[20:19:14] * +Nath notes Risira and beckons her forward.
[20:19:28] * +Risira steps forward.
[20:19:28] * +Taenor looks around for his Healer's satchel.
[20:20:05] <+Daine> ::His hands are rough and thick with callouses common to swordsmen, his face is grim and his hand lightly rests on a revolver at his belt as he stands. It doesn't look like a threatening gesture, just habit. He follows Risira:: "Thank you for helping our friends."
[20:20:13] <+Nath> ::In Solice:: "I have been charged by King Karnith to investigate these attacks and put a stop to them. PLease tell me what you know, you are the only survivor that we have located to date."
[20:20:29] <+Regan> "Tell me Ceadda, how did you come by my horse?" said in a low whisper
[20:21:08] <+Risira> ::To Daine, still in shy, quiet tones:: "You're welcome.  It is my calling, after all."
[20:21:13] * +Nath turns to Risira and waves her over to the side and says in Cana "Yes? What is it?"
[20:21:47] <~Bynw> *Ceadda pats the horse and it whinnies a bit*
[20:22:06] * +Regan turns his head to Nath but keeps his eyes on Ceadda. "This is, was, my village."
[20:22:47] <+Risira> ::To Nath, quietly::  "Taenor, their Healer, showed me what they've seen.  They found a footprint and they got impressions of a shapeshifter from it.  It might well be a Druid orchestrating these attacks.  Who else can shapeshift?"
[20:22:55] * +Nath nods, and in Solice "Please tell what happened."
[20:22:57] <+Daine> ::Makes a quick, odd jesture to Risira, touching his hand quickly to his heart , to his chin, then outward::
[20:23:27] * +Risira looks at Daine, a little puzzled.
[20:23:59] * +Taenor follows the two after finding his satchel. "Well, professionally speaking, I am extremely glad for your help, m'lady. The pain was not something small, and in the future I'll be bringing my own rations."
[20:24:00] * +Regan notices Raider's reaction and raises an eyebrow.
[20:24:29] <+Nath> ::In cana to Risra quetly:: "Hmm Ceadda is convinced that no Druid trained in traditional manner would summon such unnatural beasts. We shall have to discuss this with him after we hear the survivors story."
[20:24:42] <+Taenor> "Don't worry about my brother. He is one of the heathens from the Deserts of the west."
[20:24:42] <+Daine> ::Looks back at Risira puzzled for a moment, then nods in understanding:: "A gesture of respect in my land."
[20:24:49] <~Bynw> *Ceadda* "I found this horse in the woods several weeks ago. Injured and near death. So I healed him and he in turn has served as my steed. Raider does confirm that you are indeed his friend. So I release him from my service."
[20:25:07] <~Bynw> *ceadda is speaking in Solice*
[20:25:18] <+Risira> ::to Nath::  "Very well."  ::To Taenor::  "It is my calling, as it is yours, is it not?  But you are welcome

[20:25:40] * +Regan speaks to Risira "May I have my pendant please, if you would?"
[20:25:47] * +Risira nods to Daine and smiles shyly.
[20:26:25] * +Risira removes the pendant and hands it to Regan. "Will you translate for us when Nath cannot, since you speak their tongue and ours?"
[20:26:35] <+Regan> "I thank you Ceadda for saving my friend." Still not looking away.
[20:27:05] <+Regan> "Very well."
[20:28:31] <+Risira> ::to Nath::  "Perhaps a traditionally trained Druid would not do these things, but is it not possible for Druids to turn evil, just as any other man?"
[20:28:58] * +Taenor blushes slightly. "Aye, m'lady. Perhaps you can show me something of what you know, that I do not know, if we have the time later...."
[20:28:59] * +Regan looks up at the cave entrance and gives Llanth a look of importance
[20:29:33] * +Llanth returns Regan's gaze and raises his eyebrows in questioning.
[20:29:46] <+Nath> ::to Risira:: "It is possible..." We need a description of this shapeshifter. Perhaps there is something besides Druids that can do that.""
[20:30:01] <+Risira> ::To Taenor::  "It would be a pleasure to talk with another Healer after so long in the company of soldiers, however kind they are."
[20:30:13] * +Regan slightly nudges his head for Llanth to approach as he rolls his eyes
[20:30:33] <+Daine> ::In Valmari to Taenor:: "You've not been taught those things by a woman yet Pagan?" ::smiles slyly::
[20:32:18] <~Bynw> *Ceadda nods to Regan* "You are most welcome my friend. He is a fine member of his tribe." *he continues in Solice*

[20:32:35] * +Llanth quietly approaches Regan.
[20:32:52] * +Taenor kicks Daine in the leg, hard. ::Valmari::"I have been taught those things, Savage. And it was quite enjoyable. I was speaking of Healing, even if all your kind does is slaughter for enjoyment. If our professional relationship becomes more, that is yet to be seen."
[20:34:26] <+Regan> Before putting on the pendant Regan says to Llanth in In Southern Larithian "On your guard Elf. Something is amiss." And gives Ceadda a meaningful glance.

[20:49:44] <+Daine> ::In Cana, to Nath. His face stoic as usual:: "I thought our brother Regan had told you everything?"
[20:49:45] * +Regan smiles down at Ceadda in false appreciation

[20:50:30] * +Taenor walks off into the cave with Risira about 50 to 60 yards, and converses in quiet tones
[20:50:37] <+Nath> ::In Cana to Daine:: "He has only said that this viollage was once his but has said no details of the attack."
[20:52:55] <+Daine> ::Looks up at Regan, now riding his long lost stead. He nods to Nath and continues in Cana:: "Ah my mistake. We are charged with the same goal I believe. Perhaps we could work together to better effect? Pool what we know so far?"
[20:52:58] <+Nath> ::In Cana to Daine:: "My investigation to date has uncovered no survivors; Regan is the first eyewitness I have found. His information is quite valuable.""
[20:53:52] * +Nath nods "I think that would be wise, my King wants his Woods cleansed of the people behind these coawardly vicious attacks."
[20:55:14] <+Regan> ::To Nath: "We were attacked by creatures."
[20:56:05] * +Nath pulls out a scroll and quill and makes notes "Continue"
[20:56:45] * +Regan looks to Daine for approval to continue
[20:57:09] <+Daine> ::Shrugs at Regan and finally nods::
[20:58:03] <+Regan> "It was near dusk when we were attacked."
[20:59:15] <+Regan> There were 4 of them that I saw, but am sure there was more."
[21:00:13] <+Regan> "They were in the liking of a bear, but with feathers and a head resembling an owl."
[21:00:51] * +Regan watches for any reaction from Ceadda

[21:02:16] * +Taenor walks briskly up to Daine, grabs his wrist quickly, waits a moment, and imparts the entire conversation in an instant.

[21:03:27] * +Regan snaps up his shields. He then says: "We had no chance."
[21:03:30] <+Daine> ::Looks in irritation at Taenor, but lowers his shields to allow the contact::
[21:03:52] * +Taenor nods to Daine after a moment and walks back to Risira.
[21:05:16] <+Regan> "Whoever is responsible for my village and my friends' deaths will be sorry."  said smiling and never taking his eyes off of Ceadda.
[21:05:34] <+Nath> ::To Regan:: "Did they all come from one direction or just seemed to come from all directions?"
[21:07:03] <+Daine> ::Looks up at Regan in irritation. He glances at Ceadda and studies the man for a moment, then continues in Cana with Nath:: "My brother Regan has left out some details which he might not have noticed..."
[21:07:31] <+Nath> "such as?"
[21:07:36] * +Regan thinks back, then after a pause. "From all directions, surrounding us."
[21:08:49] * +Nath nods making more notes.
[21:09:25] <+Daine> ::He uses his hands to illustrate:: "As he says the beasts moved in coordination. They surrounded the village and moved in together keeping formation as they moved..."

[21:10:01] <+Daine> "They killed people and animals, but didn't stop to feast until everything was killed.."
[21:10:19] <+Regan> "The had coordination and purpose"
[21:11:20] <+Daine> "We also found a set of footprints." ::his hand makes a gesture as a bird landing:: "Only one set, no tracks leading to or from it." ::his hand continues the gesture as if a bird is taking flight::
[21:11:43] <+Daine> "The footprints where bare, no shoes or boots on them."
[21:12:02] * +Regan looks down at Ceadda's feet

[21:14:56] <+Regan> Truthreading Ceadda. "Do you know what these creatures are called?" he asks Ceadda
[21:15:31] <+Daine> ::Reaches over and grabs Regan's ankle, the gesture is slow and non-threatening. His forearm muscles bunch as he squeezes the man's ankle in a vice strong grip. All this without a change of expression or without taking his eyes off Nath:: "Master Nym assures us that the man responsible for these attacks is a druid named Chadwick." ::releases Regan's ankle::

[21:20:00] <+Daine> ::Pauses and looks to the others, his hand almost lazily comes to linger on his revolver. It seems a nervous tick more than a threat:: "Anadari Master Nym Gibran. Anadari watchman for the empire, Earl of Tennes, Baron de Kes, Yes."
[21:20:22] * +Nath nods absently making notes
[21:21:38] <+Daine> "You know of him?"
[21:21:54] <~Bynw> *Ceadda* "I don't know of any druid named Chadwick m'lord."
[21:22:01] <+Nath> "eh? Oh no I have not."

[21:25:32] <+Nath> "That may come in handy... Rus may be able to help us there perhaps with your assistance."
[21:25:43] * +Regan Regan relaxes as he knows that Ceadda was telling the truth about not knowing Chadwick.

[21:31:15] <+Nath> "The druids determined that the owlbears are summoned magically.. Tirl and Rus have confirmed this as well since we tried back tracking them."
[21:31:59] * +Llanth speaks up. "Summoned from where?"
[21:32:00] <+Nath> "The tracks vanish a short distance away from the site of the attacks"
[21:32:46] <+Nath> "that they could not determine but we did not have any actual artifacts from them until now. The feathers may help us there."
[21:32:50] * +Regan leans down towards Ceadda while Nath and Daine converse and whispers to Ceadda: "Pardon my inquizative nature, but, just for my own satisfaction, mind you, do you know of any person of prominance or any magic weilder named Chadwick? Again, pardon my prying."
[21:34:24] <+Nath> "We have been unable to determine any pattern to these attacks except that they are all occuring near the border."
[21:35:35] <~Bynw> *Ceadda* "I would have to think on that. Working in service to my King, I meet many people."
[21:35:48] <+Nath> "Have I missed anything Ceadda or Risira?"
[21:36:08] * +Risira shakes her head in the negative.

[21:49:18] <+Nath> ::Turns to Ceadda:: "His Majesty placed me in charge of this investigation. Taking these people to the cpaital is not going to stop the attacks!"

[21:50:50] <~Bynw> *Ceadda* "I shall bow to your judgement my lord. But they do not seem to recognize the lawful authority of this land."

[21:52:29] <+Daine> ::His eyes bore into Ceadda, in Cana:: "We can settle any dispute you have here and now." ::spits::

[21:53:06] <+Regan> "We appreciate, through our new accaintence Nath, the King's favor to continue our investigation."
[21:53:10] <+Daine> ::Sneers at Nath, his voice a low growl:: "We could say the same."
[21:53:12] * +Risira clutches the dagger at her belt and begins looking around nervously for some place to get away from the conflict.
[21:54:40] * +Nath looks at Daine with a neutral expression "We have been more than civil with you and aided you in the time of need. You are obviously not aware of the fact that you are in our country."
[21:55:37] * +Regan raises his voice to be heard by all: "As I said we appreciate, through our new accaintence Nath, the King's favor to continue our investigation."
[21:56:17] * +Risira looks at Regan in some relief, hoping that he will be able to defuse the tempers.
[21:56:27] * +Nath turns to Regan "Yes, we should join forces here to eliminate the same threat."
[21:57:13] * +Regan nods to Nath and relaxes a little
[21:58:17] * +Regan looks to Daine and makes a slight guesture to relax
[21:58:26] <+Llanth> "Agreed. But understand, alturitic our goals may be, we do have our own mission."
[21:58:36] <+Daine> ::He glances to Risira and a little bit of the heat in his eyes drains. Then back to Nath with a sneer, his voice tightly controlled :: "I wasn't aware we where supposed to bow, scrape, and kiss your feet Captain? Is interrogation and accusation standard practice for visitors to your land then?"
[21:58:46] * +Nath turns to Daine "I have been charged by my King to put a stop to these attacks. I assume your Master Gibran has done the same with regards to your group. Therefore we should join forces to eliminate the common threat. Keep in mind however that these attacks occured on the King's lands; thus you can forgive Ceadda's reaction. He is a loyal subject as am I."
[21:59:14] * +Taenor kicks Daine to calm down and even smile slightly
[21:59:22] * +Regan rolls his eyes at Llanth's and Daine's comments
[21:59:55] * +Nath snaps "Ceadda is NOT in charge of this investigation I am. He may give advice but that is all. Is that understood?"
[22:01:11] <+Regan> To Nath. "Understood. Thank you for your, ah, patience and restraint." then looks to Ceadda to see how he responds to Nath's command
[22:02:01] <~Bynw> *Ceadda lowers his head and doesnt say anything*
[22:03:41] <+Daine> ::Looks to Nath and he seems to calm a bit more in the face of the man's civil tone:: "Yes I think I understand his kind quite well." ::shoots Ceadda a look of disgust, then turns his back on the captain and the others and walks back to the cave. His stride is quick and robotic with anger, he mutters to himself in Valmarian as he goes::
