[19:45] <.Bynw> *Having been "rescued" by the Spectral Magicians of Adan.  Their leader announces a Royal Writ proclaiming the incident is now under the watchfull eye's of the Order.*

[19:45] <.Bynw> *The Duke and Orange Magician proclaims that Ibon Kruger is elevated to the title of Baron Noyes and is placed incharge of the investigation to be carried out by the Earl of Kirsh and the Anadari Knight and Earl of Tennes ... Nym.*
[19:45] <.Bynw> .
[19:45] <.Bynw> *The wizards complete necessary repairs to the wagons that were damaged in the owlbear attack and attach their own magical steeds to them.  And are ready to return the wagons and the men to Earl Benedict of Kirsh.*

[19:47] <.Bynw> *Ibon goes and picks up his bow that he had dropped during the fight.  He stops next to James*  "I'll be intouch when we find out who is responsible so the Arch Druid will know.  Thank you for coming."

[19:48] <+James> James: "You don't want our help in the investigation, then?"
[19:49] * Lars_Revik makes sure his equipment is in its proper place. I turn and say to Ibon "Shall we each attend the investigation in seperate ways, Baron Noyes?"
[19:49] <.Bynw> *Ibon*  "I think with the help of Benedict and the others instead of us all working against eachother.  We will have all the help we need."
[19:50] <.Bynw> *Duke Stonemont to the other Spectrals*  "Get these wagons back to the Earl's stronghold.  Before night fall."
[19:50] <+James> "I'll look forward to hearing from you, then.  And congatulations again . . . Baron Noyes."
[19:51] * Lars_Revik nods to the newly made Baron Noyes. "Congratualations on your new ranking, sire."
[19:51] <+Jenna> ((I'm confused... who are we going with?))
[19:51] <+James> ((I think we're being left by ourselves.))
[19:52] <Lars_Revik> ((aye, Jenna))
[19:53] * +Jenna looks at James and Lars "so now what?"
[19:53] <.Bynw> *The Duke mounts up again on his horse and pulls out another scroll*  "Master James.  Take this to your Arch Druid.  It will tell him what he needs to know."
[19:53] <+James> ::accepts the scroll:: "Thank you, Your Grace."
[19:54] * Lars_Revik approaches Stonemont, and gives a nod to him. "Any chance for horses of our own, y'Grace?"
[19:54] <+James> "We could go back with the wagons and get horses there."
[19:55] <+James> " . . . or a portal trip."
[19:55] <Lars_Revik> "Aye, James.. I wished only to fascilitate our... journey."
[19:56] * Lars_Revik takes out a bit of tobbacco and rolls it into a smoke.
[19:56] * DarkSir is now known as Kanax
[19:57] <+James> "I need to go back to Paradise to take His Grace's scroll to the Archdruid.  I don't know if you all want to return there or go someplace else."
[19:57] * Bynw sets mode: +v Lars_Revik
[19:57] <+Lars_Revik> ((ty))
[19:58] * +Jenna shrugs "I got nothin' better to do"
[19:58] <.Bynw> *Duke*  "River ... see to their horses will you please."
[19:58] * +Lars_Revik blows out a gust of smoke, and looks at it fleet away with the breeze. I look at Jenna then, and smile, as I say "Same here..I'll stick around, if it pleases you all."
[19:59] <.Bynw> *the yellow robed Spectral Magician utters a few words of magic and the sound of horses can be heard just over the hill*
[20:00] * +Jenna cleans her bow briefly as preparations are being made
[20:00] * +Seanna helps Jenna
[20:00] <.Bynw> *Ibon gets on one of the wagons*
[20:00] <+Seanna> ::clean up that is::
[20:01] * +Lars_Revik looks for a spot on one of the wagons. I heft myself up, and try to get comfortable.
[20:01] <.Bynw> *Duke*  "I think it best that you follow James" *he says to the rest of the party* "We have a very delicate balance with the Earl and we dont want to upset it at this point."
[20:02] * +Kanax already has his weapons in shape, from sitting so quietly the last little bit.
[20:02] <+Lars_Revik> "Then good luck to you, my Grace, and to you, James." I say sternly and loudly.
[20:03] * +Seanna nods
[20:03] <.Bynw> *Ibon to Lars* "That means you cant get comfy on the wagon here.  Its going to the Earl."
[20:04] <+Lars_Revik> "Bah! on foot again, eh?" I say with some chagrin, and get down.
[20:04] <+James> "No, Lars, I hear our horses coming."
[20:04] * +Lars_Revik looks with some surprise
[20:04] <+Lars_Revik> "Ah, how quaint. Looks like I get my wish after all!"
[20:05] <+James> ::Turns to the Yellow Magician:: "And thank you for that, Sir."
[20:05] <.Bynw> *as lars gets off the wagon it begins to move out heading back the way it came followed by the 2nd wagon shortly there after*
[20:05] <+Nym> d20+9 
[20:05] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for Nym (d20+9) and rolled 19.
[20:05] * +Jenna grins "you wished for a sore arse?"
[20:05] * +Kanax shrugs once again, hefting himself off his arse, looking down the trail.
[20:05] <+Lars_Revik> "Nay, lass, I wished for a horse to rest my arse on!" I laughingly say to Jenna.
[20:06] <+Lars_Revik> "Ive broken in a few saddles, Jenna"
[20:06] * +Jenna nods and remains silent
[20:08] * +Lars_Revik casts a glance at Jenna, as if wondering why she is silent.
[20:08] <.Bynw> *the yellow magican nods and rides off*
[20:08] <.Bynw> *the wagons begin moving away almost unencumbered by the mud on the trail due to the magical steeds now pulling them.  and they are escorted in front and behind by the Spectral Magicians until only the Duke remains*
[20:09] <+James> ??Have the horses arrived??
[20:09] <.Bynw> *the horse have crested the hill and are coming down towards the party ... the very horses they left behind earlier*
[20:10] <+Lars_Revik> "Our horses!"
[20:10] <+James> "We are in your debt, Your Grace, and the debt of your Order."
[20:11] * +Lars_Revik looks for the steed he had, before we had to leave them in the raining forest.
[20:11] * +Jenna goes directly to her horse from before and easily jumps into the saddle
[20:12] <+Lars_Revik> "Aye, Lord Stonemont, your one to thank. I appreciate it, your Grace." 
[20:12] * +Kanax climbs aboard his mount, and eases the animal around to face the group.
[20:12] * +Lars_Revik gets on his trusty steed, and pets his neck.
[20:12] * +James mounts his horse.
[20:13] <.Bynw> *one horse is not claimed as it was the one Ibon was ridding but he has left on the wagon*
[20:15] <+Nym> ::eyes the horse:: 
[20:15] * +Seanna gets on her horse
[20:15] * +Kanax moves over to the spare animal, and tethers it his own mount, "We'll keep her along, just in case."
[20:15] <.Bynw> *the duke nods at James*  "Thank you Master James.  You have helped the Order more than you can ever know.  God speed to you and your friends"  *he turns his horse and rides for the wagons*
[20:15] <+Lars_Revik> "Just what I was about to do, Kanax"
[20:16] <+Lars_Revik> ((brb))
[20:16] <+Nym> ::watches the duke leave then moves to take the reins on the last horse:: 
[20:16] <+Kanax> ((too late))
[20:16] <+Nym> "Anyone mind if I take this last horse?" 
[20:17] <+Kanax> ((oh yeah, convenient))
[20:17] <+Kanax> "Ah, you're riding along, lad.... O'course."
[20:17] <+James> "I figured you were going with the investigators, Lord Nym."
[20:17] * +Kanax releases the reigns, "Treat her well, she's been a fine for Ibon."
[20:17] <+Lars_Revik> ((back))
[20:19] <+Lars_Revik> "Ah, good to have you with us, Earl Nym"  I salute to Nym. 
[20:20] <+Lars_Revik> "For some reason, I thought we were going to go with the wagon train... this seems much better, and much more the better now that you are with us, your Grace."
[20:21] <+James> ((Your Grace is an address for a Duke, not an Earl.))
[20:21] <+Lars_Revik> ((well, Ill flatter him a bit.. ))
[20:21] <+James> (( lol ))
[20:22] <+Lars_Revik> ((some might take it as sarcasm..but, oh well))
[20:22] * +Kanax simply remains silent. He looks to James, then up the path.
[20:22] <+Jenna> "we are headed back to Paradise then?"
[20:22] <Ghalen> ((how do you address the duke of earl then?))
[20:23] <+Kanax> ((in doo wop))
[20:23] <+Jenna> ((duke..duke..duke..))
[20:23] <+Jenna> ((*watches the GM just shake his head* ))
[20:24] <+James> "I am.  I suppose everyone's destination is up to them."
[20:24] <Ghalen> ((Well if you challenge an earl to a fistfight, doe he have the authority to 'put up his dukes'?))
[20:24] <+Kanax> I'm with ye for the long haul, lad.  I'm as likely to find my answers where you go, as anywhere.
[20:24] <+Jenna> "I do not think I'll be travelling alone in this godforsaken place, if it pleases you all"
[20:24] <+Lars_Revik> "Im with you James. Besides, I'd like to find out why they call it "Paradise".
[20:25] <.Bynw> (( because the grass is greener and the girls are prettier ))
[20:25] * +Nym (~rob@*.ma.charter.com) has left #Teara-Adan
[20:25] <+Lars_Revik> (( oh oh wont you please take me home!))
[20:26] <.Bynw> (( ack where did Nym go ))
[20:26] <+Jenna> ((*bangs head on desk - hard*))
[20:26] <+James> "That's rather a long story, Lars.  Paradise forest used to be anything but a paradise.  I'll tell you about it on the way."
[20:27] <+Lars_Revik> "Nothing like a good story, James, wouldnt you say?" I begin to roll another smoke, one handed.
[20:27] <+Kanax> "Rather than an old story, how about a new one.  Such as, what the hell was all that about?"
[20:28] <.Bynw> *the road out of Kirsh leads back to the cathedral that the party had portalled into a day and a half ago.*
[20:28] * +Lars_Revik looks at Kanax
[20:28] * +Jenna snorts a laugh, having no care for nobles and their ilk
[20:29] <+Lars_Revik> "Im easy, Kanax... whats the trouble with you?"
[20:29] <.Bynw> *from there any number of roads can be taken but the Twentyways Road is the best as for as travel goes.  It is well patrolled and guarded across Adan.  And any number of cathedral portals are long the way as well that can be used.*
[20:30] <+James> "We ought to take these horses back.  They're borrowed, after all."
[20:31] <+Lars_Revik> "That much is true, James. They belong to the monestary."
[20:31] * +Kanax raises an eyebrow at Lars's statement, but remains silent for the moment.
[20:31] * +Lars_Revik puffs on his smoker.
[20:31] <+James> "From the monatery, we can portal to our original horses."
[20:32] <+Lars_Revik> "Then lets get the hell out of here!" I say with my smoker between my teeth.
[20:33] <+James> "I'm for that, too.  Everyone ready?"
[20:33] <+James> "Rufus!  We're heading out."
[20:34] * +Kanax nods
[20:34] <+Lars_Revik> "The Twentyways Road then, aye?" I shout, as I begin to rouse my horse to a high trot.
[20:34] * +Jenna urges her mount along to follow
[20:34] * +Seanna follows also
[20:35] * +Seanna makes sure her horse is away from Lars
[20:35] * +Kanax returns to the point, still slightly on edge from the battle that ended so suddenly.
[20:36] * +Lars_Revik rides next to, or between James and Kanax.
[20:36] * +Jenna keeps a close eye on the roadside for any more owlbears or other creatures
[20:38] <.Bynw> *there are sounds of the ancient forest flitering into those on the trail but nothing that is close by at all as they ride back towards the cathedral*
[20:38] <+Lars_Revik> (( ?Nym? ))
[20:38] <+Kanax> ((Got disconnected))
[20:38] <+Lars_Revik> (( righto ))
[20:39] <.Bynw> *they pass the road side border marking Kirsh with a warning to travellers before night fall*
[20:39] <.Bynw> *Nym rides quietlly following the party*
[20:40] <+Lars_Revik> ??what time of day is it??
[20:41] * +Lars_Revik looks to see where the sun is in the sky
[20:41] <.Bynw> !! by the time you reach the marker the sun is setting 
[20:42] <+Lars_Revik> ??do we pass any patrols??
[20:42] <.Bynw> !! not that you see !!
[20:43] <+James> "Well, I suppose we should camp for the night soon."
[20:43] <+Lars_Revik> "The road seems quiet, eh, my friends?" 
[20:43] * +Kanax grumbles, "The Einar forest seems quiet at night, too."
[20:44] <+Lars_Revik> "I suppose we should find a good spot then, James"
[20:45] * +Lars_Revik looks over his shoulder at Jenna and Sean.." I suppose the ladies might be hungry as well. "
[20:45] <+James> "I think we all are, Lars.  Been a long day."
[20:46] * +Lars_Revik nods
[20:46] * +Seanna volunteers to set wards when everyone settles down for the night
[20:47] <+James> "Thanks, Seanna, that would be great."
[20:47] * +Jenna starts preparing the meal while Seanna sets wards
[20:48] * +Lars_Revik sees to the horses, giving them grain from the saddlebags.. I then find a somewhat secluded spot in which to remove my armor.
[20:48] * +Kanax unsheaths his scimitar, as he dismounts. He steps just outside the camp, and begins practicing fighting maneuvers.
[20:48] <+James> "Lars, do you have anything you need to pick up oon the way back, or can we portal straight through to where the rest of us left our horses tomorrow?"
[20:49] * +Lars_Revik stretches as he listens to James
[20:49] <.Bynw> *Nym settles down outside of the wards that Seanna creates*
[20:50] <+Lars_Revik> "Well, I dont think so, James...not unless you think I can get a better suit of armor."
[20:51] <+James> "Our horses are in Torent.  That's a better place to look for armor than the church where you joined us."
[20:51] * +Lars_Revik folds his chainmail up, and stows it in his pack.
[20:51] <+Lars_Revik> "Aye, I was only half-joking" I say as I stand back up from my belongings.
[20:52] <+Lars_Revik> "So, whats for dinner?"
[20:53] * +Lars_Revik smells the aroma from Jenna's cooking
[20:53] <.Bynw> *Nym picks up his belongings and leads his horse over to the others and joins the rest of the party just before Seanna compleates her ward*
[20:53] <+Lars_Revik> ((brb))
[20:53] * +Jenna is cooking whatever rations we had on hand
[20:55] <+James> ((I'll have a slice of strawberry tart without so much rat in it . . . ))
[20:55] <+Jenna> ((wuss))
[20:55] <+Lars_Revik> ((back))
[20:56] <+Lars_Revik> "It would be nice to have killed some small game.. maybe next time we should stop before it gets so dark."
[20:57] <+James> "Maybe next time we won;t be trying to get out of Kirsh forest before nightfall."
[20:57] <.Bynw> *night passes without incident and the party has had a good night sleep since the Wards make a watch unnecessary*
[20:58] * +Kanax practices late into the night.
[20:58] * +Lars_Revik dons his armor once again in the morning...
[20:58] * +Kanax finally sleeps, once the rest of the party has drifted off.
[21:00] * +Jenna sleeps fitfully, having bad dreams about her brother
[21:01] * +Kanax rises the next morning, silently getting his gear ready.
[21:03] * +James prepares to ride out, eating an apple and wishing it was a banana.
[21:03] * +Lars_Revik gets his gear and horse ready for travel.
[21:07] <.Bynw> *Nym gathers his things and waits for the others to depart*
[21:09] * +Lars_Revik silently gathers his belongings,, then, I go to have a look up and down the road.
[21:10] <.Bynw> !! the road is empty ... toward the northeast is the forest of kirsh and its foothills and mountains ... the other way leads back to the Cathedral 
[21:11] * +Lars_Revik nods to himself, and returns to the group.. "The road looks still safe, I think we should leave as soon as everyone is ready to depart." I say to the group.
[21:11] <+James> "I agree, lars."
[21:12] * +Kanax is a bit tired, but does his best not to show it.
[21:12] * +Lars_Revik jumps on his horse
[21:12] * +Lars_Revik looks at Kanax
[21:12] <+Lars_Revik> "You alright, there?"
[21:13] * +Kanax climbs aboard his horse, without a word.
[21:13] <+Lars_Revik> "hmph"
[21:13] * +Jenna gets her things together and prepares to leave, yawning
[21:13] <+James> "Kanax can take it easy today.  He doesn't need to operate the portal."
[21:14] <+Lars_Revik> "Well, shall we get thee hence, sir James?"
[21:15] <+James> ??Are Seanna and Nym ready to depart??
[21:15] <.Bynw> !! nym has been ready
[21:15] * +Seanna is ready
[21:16] <+James> "Okay, let's go."
[21:16] * +Lars_Revik gives a grin.. "and maybe we'll catch some breakfast soon.. Im hungry enough to eat my horse!"
[21:17] <.Bynw> *the ride in the morning to the Cathedral is completed just before midday and the ringing of the Sext prayers*
[21:17] <+James> "Here, have an apple.  There's a tree nearby and I picked a few of them."
[21:17] <+Lars_Revik> "Ah, much appreciated, James." I take the apple and devour it.
[21:18] * +Kanax rides silently, perhaps troubled about something, but not in the mood to talk, apparantly to anyone.
[21:20] * +James heads to the stable to return his horse.
[21:20] * +Kanax dismounts, and follows James.
[21:20] <.Bynw> *the party is greeted by one of the clerics who remembers them from the other day.  They gladly receive thier horses back and are happy to find that they are unharmed*
[21:20] * +Lars_Revik follows suit
[21:20] * +Jenna follows, gathering her things off the horse
[21:21] <.Bynw> *The do seem to be a bit out of sorts to see the Earl Tennes with the party ... taken unware of a Lord's visit*
[21:24] <.Bynw> *the party can use the portal after the prayer service to wherever they are going*
[21:25] <+Lars_Revik> (brb)
[21:26] <+Lars_Revik> ((ok))
[21:26] <+Lars_Revik> ((why the heck is everyone so quiet??))
[21:27] <+Kanax> ((happens sometimes))
[21:28] <+Seanna> ((ot
[21:28] <+Seanna> ((oops, it's a quiet night))

[21:28] <+Lars_Revik> "hey, Kanax..." I say while walking over to him "care to spar a bit?"
[21:29] <+Seanna> ((it's night in Houston, TX))
[21:29] * +Kanax settles in, and looks to the other party members. As Lars approaches, he replies, "No thanks, lad. Gearing m'self up for te upcoming trip."
[21:30] <+Lars_Revik> "aye, just as well..I suppose Im just bored is all" I say with a sigh to Kanax
[21:30] * +Kanax turns to James, apparantly shaken out of his silence by Lars, "So, once we get to Paradise, what's the plan?"
[21:31] <+James> "Maybe the Archdruid will have another assignment for us.  If not, we look for work."
[21:31] <.Bynw> (( we can stop here while awaiting the use of the portal ))
[21:31] <+Lars_Revik> "I for one am anxious to see what the Archdruid might have for us."
[21:31] <+James> ::quietly:: "Something troubling you, Kanax?"
[21:32] <+Kanax> "So that's it, then?  We come to investigat, and then these mages appear, and say "No need, we're taking care of it"?  So we go back to Paradise..."
[21:32] <+Kanax> ((soon))
[21:33] <+James> "I'm a bit disappointed, too.  But the Duke said the scroll will give the Archdruid the answers he wants."
[21:33] <+Lars_Revik> "I agree, Kanax, it seems that we let the trail grow cold.. shit happens. You move on, and hope for the best next time is all."
[21:33] * +Kanax nods slowly, "It still seems a bit odd. Ah well, where adventure takes us, there we go."
[21:33] <+James> "I trust Stonemont.  I've worked for him before."
[21:34] <.Bynw> *Nym*  "I don't"
[21:34] * +Kanax looks over to Nym...
[21:34] * +Lars_Revik lets Nym's comment go
[21:35] <+Kanax> "Good to hear you speak, lad.  What troubles you about the Duke?"
[21:36] <+James> ::nods at Nym:: "Yes, Lord Nym, that's apparent.  But I need to follow my own feelings."
[21:36] <.Bynw> *Nym* "He's a Spectral Magician.  And not an ally at Court."  *he looks off into the distance*
