 [18:50] <.Bynw> SHORT LITTLE RECAP:  * travelling to paradise city ... its been drizzling again for the past 2-3 days ....
[18:50] <.Bynw> *the group gathers there things in oiled leathers to protect it from teh rain and continues their journey by nightfall they reach East Village in the drizzling skies where they stop and manage to get rooms enough for everyone once again.* 
[18:50] <.Bynw> (( end of the recap ))
[18:51] <.Bynw> *Astori stays in the common room for a while that night ... drying his things near the hearth*
[18:52] * +Jenna does the same to prevent jungle rot, and chats with Astori occasionally
[18:53] <+Jenna> "so how many times have you been to Paradise City?"
[18:54] <+James> ::dries too.::
[18:54] <.Bynw> *Astori* "Only once.  But I can by boat all the way last time"
[18:54] <+Jenna> "ugh"
[18:55] <+Jenna> "I'd prefer this rain"
[18:56] <.Bynw> *Astori* "Overland you can out run .... trouble.  On a ship you have limited places to go."
[18:57] <+James> "I've been there before.  When I was a kid, my dad used to go there to buy saw blades."
[18:58] * +Jenna nods "your father was a woodsman, James?"
[18:58] <+James> "Yes, he was a lumberjack."
[18:58] <+Jenna> ((did he wear women's clothing? ))
[18:59] <.Bynw> *Astori* "Its a huge city ... smaller than a few others I've been too."
[18:59] <+Mistyck> ((was singing the lumberjack song in my head!))

[19:02] <.Bynw> *Astori* "Its about the same size as Central City but smaller than both Montaire and Sanctuary"
[19:03] <+Jenna> "how much longer will our journey be, I wonder... and will this rain ever stop?!"
[19:04] <+James> "Maybe 5-7 more days . . . and probably rainy.  This is the rainy season."
[19:05] <+James> "Be glad for the rain.  The other season is the snowy season."
[19:05] * +Jenna rolls her eyes
[19:05] <+Jenna> "well I guess its better than the desert"
[19:06] <+James> "ANYTHING is better than that desert!"
[19:06] <.Bynw> *Jaden just sits back away from everyone else ... looking and watching about*
[19:09] * +Jenna orders a refreshing mug of ale while attending to her things
[19:10] <.Bynw> *Astori* "I think you are right James.  I think it will be raining the rest of this trip." *sighs* "Paradise City is also a bit on the wilder side .... not at all like the tame streets of Montaire."
[19:10] * +Jenna grins
[19:10] <+Jenna> "Montaire sounds boring"
[19:11] <+Thek> ((Sorry, I'm really here now.))
[19:12] <.Bynw> *Astori*  "Yes boring.  But, Montaire does hold some of my best paying employers"
[19:13] <+Jenna> "oh I'm sure...with the royalty and courtiers and all"
[19:13] <.Bynw> ? Is Thek with the rest of the group ?
[19:13] <+Thek> !! Yes !!
[19:14] * +Thek sits with the rest of the group, slightly apart from everyone else
[19:15] <.Bynw> *Astori* "Dont worry about us Thek, we dont bite.... hard.  Come join us!"
[19:16] * +Thek moves a bit closer to the group
[19:16] <+James> ::aside to Astori:: "Rufus bites."
[19:16] * +Jenna chuckles
[19:17] <+James> "So have you been to Paradise City before, Thek?"
[19:18] <.Bynw> *Astori grabs his gear*  "Well all I am going to turn in for the night.  See you in the morning so we can get wet again"
[19:18] * +Thek turns to James, "No, I have not."
[19:19] <+James> "It's not a bad little city.  Well, I think Astori has the right idea."
[19:19] <.Bynw> *astori whistles a little tune on his way towards his room*
[19:21] <+James> "Morning will be here whether we're ready for it or not.  Better to be rested."
[19:22] * +Jenna agrees, finishes off her ale and heads to her room with her gear
[19:22] <+James> ::Heads to bed.::
[19:22] <.Bynw> ?? anyone doing anything noteworthy during the night ??
[19:22] * +Thek haeds to bed
[19:23] * +Jenna snores
[19:24] <.Bynw> *morning again brings the wet drizzle, coating everything with a fine layer of water*

[19:24] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for Bynw (d6) and rolled 5.
[19:25] <.Bynw> (( i am assuming everyone is here in the morning like always ... ))
[19:25] <+James> ((Yep, and helping with the horses.))
[19:25] <+Thek> ((Yeah))
[19:26] <+Jenna> ((yawning but helping, yes))
[19:28] <.Bynw> *the group of would be adventures again travels down the road towards their destination - Paradise City.  In a day of drizzle and grey skys*
[19:29] <.Bynw> *night brings with it more drizzle, periodic let ups now and again ... but the open plains of Paradise leave little shelter ... save for small outcroppings of trees where they can find shelter, sometimes a bit of a ways off the road*
[19:31] <+Jenna> "are there any towns nearby?"
[19:31] <+Jenna> ((to anyone who will answer))
[19:32] <.Bynw> "not for another day or two ... " *Astori replys*  "Thek, Jaden and Kanax ... you guys can setup the camp here ... you 3 are the best skilled for it I think"
[19:32] <+James> "I'll take care of the horses."
[19:33] * +Jenna tends to the horses also
[19:33] * +Thek starts setting up camp
[19:33] <+Jenna> ((otherwise all I have to do is stand there and look beautiful, distracting the others ))
[19:34] <.Bynw> ((( wilderness lore/survival whichever it is that you have ... checks for the rangers please )))

[19:34] * +Palamedes rolls the dice for Thek (d20+3) and rolled 17.

[19:38] <.Bynw> *the rangers are able to make a pretty good shelter for everyone ... a lean-to that is dry enough for the night's rest*
[19:40] <.Bynw> *Astori is not concerned about posting a watch ... but welcomes anyone that wished to preform in that function*
[19:41] <+James> ((If anyone brings up the topic, James will volunteer to take a watch, but he doesn't suggest it.))
[19:43] <.Bynw> *Jaden takes watch all night unless someone relieves him*
[19:43] * +Thek relieves him halfway through
[19:44] <+James> ::James volunteers for a third of the night.::
[19:44] <.Bynw> *the night passes without incident .... drizzling off and on all through the night*
[19:46] <.Bynw> *the ride starts off under the grey skys of drizzle but slowly they give way to black skys of rain by mid-day*

[20:00] <.Bynw> *by the nights camp - the rain has again turned back to off and on drizzle... but this night a barn is available for use by the travellers*

[20:05] <.Bynw> !! yes this one appears to be abandoned ... !!
[20:05] * +Thek looks around the barn, inside and out
[20:05] * +Jenna finds a dry spot (no leaks in the roof) to spread out her things
[20:05] <+Thek> ?? How many entrances, what condition ??
[20:05] <+Kanax> ?? Stone or dirt foundation ??
[20:06] <.Bynw> !! one ... double door, one is missing .... dirt !!
[20:07] <+Jenna> ((watch out - there could be a nag or some malnourished cows lingering about ))
[20:07] * +Thek sets his horse to rest for the night, and takes a post just outside for watch
[20:07] <+James> ((or . . . A PIG!))
[20:07] <+Jenna> ((woo hoo dinner!))
[20:08] * +Jenna gets up halfway through the night and relieves Thek for watch
[20:08] * +Thek shakes his head, "You can watch if you want to, but I'll be staying up"
[20:10] * +Kanax finds a bed down, and takes some time to dry his weapons and belongings.
[20:12] <+James> ::dries, eats, and then sleeps.::

[20:34] <.Bynw> *the storm continues with periodic drizzle and flashes of lightning in the night sky*
[20:35] <+Thek> "Rathe, heel!" *picks up his sword*
[20:35] <+Thek> :: Calls out into the night:: "Identify yourself!"
[20:35] <.Bynw> *the night answers with a clap of thunder*
[20:35] * +Jenna walks up to Thek "what is it?"
[20:35] <+Kanax> :: stirs, jumping to his feet ::
[20:36] <+Thek> *turns to Jenna* "Someone's coming, wake the others"
[20:36] <+James> ::wakes and rises::
[20:36] * +Jenna rushes back to the sleeping adventurers and wakes them
[20:36] <+James> ((Okay, I wake after you wake me.))
[20:36] <+Jenna> ((thank heavens ))
[20:37] <.Bynw> *Astori wakes up*  "What is it?
[20:37] <.Bynw> *Jaden grabs his bow, itching for a fight and runs out into the darkness and wet of the night*
[20:38] * +Thek starts moving towards where he saw the figure, telling Rathe to come along with him
[20:38] <+James> ::Draws scimitar and goes to the entrance Thek went out.
[20:39] * +Kanax grabs his nearest weapon, the rarely used waraxe, and follows.
[20:39] <.Bynw> *jaden is already nearby when Thek joins him,  kneeling in the mud and soaked ground* 
[20:40] <.Bynw> *Jaden stands and looks around into the darkness*
[20:42] * +Jenna returns to the entrance, bow at the ready
[20:43] <.Bynw> *Jaden*  "Someone was here ... "  *returns to the barn*
[20:44] * +Thek turns to Rathe "Find 'em"
[20:45] <+James> "What was out there, Jaden?"
[20:47] <.Bynw> *Jaden* "Someone on horse back.  They can ride well ... and hide well."
[20:47] <+James> "Horseback?  Then they're gone now."
[20:48] * +Kanax frowns, "Could just be someone passing."
[20:50] <+Thek> ?? Rathe finding anything ??
[20:50] <.Bynw> *Jaden* "I don't think so .... "
[20:51] <.Bynw> *Rathe sniffs around some but cant quite get the scent strong enough in the rain that is washing it away ... and comes back to his master's side*
[20:52] * +Thek pets Rathe, "They're gone, but they may be back"
[20:53] <+James> "Any idea how many?  One, a few, several?"
[20:53] <.Bynw> *Astori* "Lets continue to keep watch ..."
[20:53] <.Bynw> *Jaden* "Only one that I could tell"
[20:53] <+Thek> "One"
[20:54] <+James> "That's good then.  We should be safe from one, as ling as we're vigilant."
[20:54] <+James> ((as long))
[20:55] * +Kanax nods, and will keep watch the rest of the night.
[20:55] <.Bynw> *the rest of the night passes with incident, the drizzle continuing throught the next day*
[20:57] <.Bynw> *Jaden takes a look for tracks before leaving and finds that the drizzle has removed most of the evidence of any passage during the night*
