[20:01]<Bynw> *Michon continues down the darkened trail as directed by the Earl's men.*
[20:01]* Llanth follows along behind Michon.
[20:01]* Regan looks side to side intently as they move forward.
[20:02]* Risira rather timidly directs her Tricon, a bay named Bashira, to follow the path.
[20:02]<Bynw> *riding at a leisurely pace after nearly half an hour he lets out a sigh* "We are being watched. I can feel it."
[20:03]* Regan nods "Feels creepy."
[20:05]<Bynw> *Michon* "Remember. To listen to the forest. If it goes silent, we will probably find Owlbears. They were spawned in this place"
[20:05]* Risira shudders.
[20:05]* Regan snarls
[20:06]<Regan> "So, we go left at the fork, yes?" whispers.
[20:07]<Llanth> "Spawned?"
[20:07]<Bynw> *Michon* "This whole forest is named after a single castle in the mountains. The original founding place of the Spectral Magicians ... Yes we do take the left as instructed."
[20:08]* Regan pats Rais on the neck and closes his eyes briefly.
[20:09]<Llanth> "Like fish?"
[20:09]<Bynw> *Michon* "Of course that castle is in ruins now. Destroyed by a rain of fire from Heaven. God's will says the Church. The Spectrals have always claimed it was a spell that went wrong."

[20:15]* Llanth looks around.
[20:15]<Llanth> "Ok, anybody.. Spawned??"
[20:16]<Bynw> *Tara* "The Owlbears are a creation of magic ... "
[20:16]<Llanth> "So they don't have eggs?"
[20:17]<Regan> "I wouldn't be surprised if they, um, crapped out their young."
[20:17]<Llanth> "Like humans then?"
[20:17]<Bynw> *Tara raises an eyebrow* "I've never really studied them. I don't know."
[20:18]<Regan> "Ha, very funny Treedweller."
[20:18]<Daine> ::Looks to Llanth , irritated:: "You only need know that they bleed , they die, and their minds are animals. Mating habits are for scholars brother."
[20:19]<Bynw> *Michon* "And of course Kirsh holds great relics of the Spectrals and others who have lived there ... and the ruins of the first Matrix."
[20:20]<Llanth> "Daine, has it ever occurred to you that if you don't question things, you are no more than a mindless automaton?"
[20:21]* Regan doesn't question Daine.
[20:22]<Daine> ::Seems to ponder Llanth's words for a moment:: "We have a saying in Utha, all theory and no practice."
[20:23]<Llanth> "I believe that the practice is right here and now, and you may find that if you looked deeper than the obvious things are not as clear as they seem to be."
[20:23]<Bynw> *the path forks to the right and left a few yards up ahead as Michon stops*
[20:23]* Regan rolls his eyes. "We have a saying in Kylemore: 'Do unto others, then split.'" :: chuckles ::
[20:24]<Llanth> "It could be that the owlbears are enslaved and forced to fight, you don't know these things untill you bother to ask the question."
[20:24]* Regan says to Michon: "Can you tell which way the drwarves went, Master?"
[20:24]<Regan> *dwarves
[20:25]* Llanth looks at Regan. "To Kirsh?"
[20:25]<Regan> "I meant right or left."
[20:26]<Bynw> *Michon* "I don't know for certain. But I'm going left as they suggested. The right path leads more into the mountains and far closer to the ruins than I want to go."
[20:27]<Daine> ::Nods:: "Well I have you to do all the deep thinking brother. I'll take care of all else that needs doing, while you think about it."
[20:27]* Llanth turns back to Daine.
[20:27]* Regan smiles at Daine's comment.
[20:27]<Llanth> "Your body is free, but your mind... Not yet."
[20:28]* Regan turns back to Tara. "Were these two always this boring?"
[20:29]<Bynw> *she shrugs*
[20:29]<Bynw> *Michon continues down the left fork of the path*
[20:30]* Regan continues on.
[20:31]<Daine> "I have a question, why have the druids here in Kirsh become so evil; if their reputation is to believed?"
[20:31]<Llanth> "The land has become tainted."
[20:31]<Daine> ::Follows Michon a top Qamar, his eyes still watching the forest::
[20:32]<Llanth> "They are a reflection of the evil that has been wrought on this land, you are not seeing evil I think, but an expression of the rage of the land."
[20:32]<Bynw> *Tara* "I can answer that one. The druids of this region have long served the dark lords ... no matter who they were"
[20:32]<Llanth> "Or there is that."
[20:33]<Bynw> *the forest continues to sing its nightly song*
[20:34]<Daine> "I had the impression that Druids could sway the land around them, not the other way around"
[20:35]<Llanth> "Never think that in influencing the world, you won't be influenced yourself."
[20:35]<Bynw> *Tara* "Maybe its a mixture of both .."
[20:36]<Daine> "Then where does the evil stem from?"
[20:36]<Bynw> *Michon* "The right fork"
[20:38]<Daine> ::Nods and seems to completely miss the humor of the comment:: "Then wouldn't that be the best place to find the druids?"
[20:39]<Bynw> *Michon* "our mission here is not to fight them. Just to obtain information from them."
[20:40]* Regan frowns but nods at the logic of Michon's statement.
[20:40]<Bynw> *torchlights of a small keep can be seen in the distance up ahead*
[20:41]* genshou has quit (Ping timeout: 121 seconds)
[20:42]<Regan> "I see lights." " :: Points ::
[20:44]<Daine> ::Nods, Qamar quickens into a trot towards the distant torch light::
[20:45]* Regan frowns again. "He always rushes."
[20:46]<Bynw> *the 5 anadari ride toward the torchlights and a keep in the distance. a small rounded keep on a low hilltop, they are greeted by a 3 riders of horses ... all human before they reach the bottom of the hill*
[20:48]<Bynw> *michon begins to speak but is cut off by one of the men* "We know who you are Anadari. You will follow us and then dismount at the stables. We will walk the rest of the way to the keep"
[20:49]* Regan turns to Tara. "Recognize any?"
[20:49]<Bynw> *Tara* "no"
[20:49]<Daine> ::Speaking to no one in particular:: "Is everyone in this place so friendly?"
[20:50]* Regan winces
[20:51]<Daine> ::Speaks up to be heard by the riders:: "Lead the way." ::makes a motion to move towards the riders::

[20:52]* Regan looks at Michon for the okay to move forward.
[20:52]<Bynw> *the riders escort the Anadari to the stables where they too dismount and then direct the Anadari to do so as well*
[20:53]* Regan whispers in Rais' ear before dismounting.
[20:53]<Bynw> *once at the stables Michon dismounts first*
[20:54]<Daine> ::Dismounts Qamar::
[20:56]<Bynw> *once dismounted the 3 men lead the Anadari up the will towards the keep. there they escort you into the great hall.* "m'Lord. The Anadari are here." *one of the men calls out into the dimly lit chamber*
[20:57]* Regan looks about the hall, squintng.
[20:57]<Bynw> *a voice answers from the darkness* "Excellent work Captain. You and your men may leave Us."
[20:58]<Bynw> *the three men make a slight bow and then leave the chamber*
[20:59]<Daine> ::Looks about the chamber, also squinting in the darkness::
[20:59]* Regan closes his right eye to the darkness
[21:00]<Bynw> *a flair of golden light comes into being, shrouding another man in a nimbus of light as he walks towards the Anadari*
[21:00]* Regan keep his right eye closed

[21:01]<Daine> ::Look mildly irritated and squints harder at the sudden increase in light::
[21:02]<Bynw> *the nimbus slowly fades as he gets closer* "Welcome Anadari. I see that Lord Gibran has forged his own House."
[21:05]<Bynw> *he looks at each of them* "Make yourselves comfortable ... please have a seat."
[21:05]<Bynw> *he gestures about*

[21:05]<Daine> ::Squints into the darkness for a chair or table and takes a seat if he finds one::
[21:07]* Regan looks up and finds no balconies. Relieved, he takes a seat opposite Daine in order to observe behind Daine.
[21:08]<Bynw> *once everyone takes a seat the man, still standing continues* "Lord Benedict does not like visitors. Or anyone other than his clans here. Thus he sent you to me."
[21:10]<Bynw> "So I shall do my Overlord's bidding and welcome you to Kirsh and see what I can do for you."

[21:11]<Bynw> *Michon to group rapport* @@"He has already proven himself to be Deryni. Daine. You need to learn skills of negotiation and statecraft. You will be our negotiator."@@
[21:13]* Regan has a bead of sweat form on his forehead at the prospect of Daine negotiating.
[21:14]<Bynw> *man* "So what is it that  I can do for you?"
[21:15]<Daine> ::Looks over to Michon with a start, then slowly back to the mysterious man, the hint of a sneer on his face:: "What should we call you then? Lord Benidict's man servant is a bit much for idle conversation for me."
[21:15]<Bynw> *he laughs* "I am Ibon. Baron Noyse"
[21:17]<Daine> "Ah, excuse my manners my lord. I am from Utha and unused to your heathe...." ::glances at Michon, then back to the man:: "Lands ways."
[21:18]<Bynw> *Tara GR* @@ "Careful. He serves 2 masters. His liege Lord of Benedict and the Spectrals." @@
[21:18]<Daine> "I am Daine T'zan, apprentice Anadari." ::Seems to paue for a moment::
[21:19]<Bynw> *Ibon nods at Daine and replies in Valmari* "You are welcome here. No need to apologize to me."
[21:22]<Daine> ::Nods to Ibon:: "We would like to use your keep as a base for resupplying while we carry out our business here in Kirsh. If you have a man who knows the local wilds well it would also be of great use to us."
[21:23]<Bynw> *Ibon* "We are all skilled hunstman. What manner of beast do you seek?"
[21:24]<Regan> * To Group * @@ Who mentioned beast? @@
[21:28]<Bynw> *Michon to group* @@ "No one, he's assuming" @@
[21:28]<Daine> ::Seems at a loss for words, looks down, then nods and regains Ibon's eyes:: "We are not here to hunt local game Lord Noyse." ::rubs his stomach:: "It has been a long journey here to Kirsh, could we trouble you for some food? Perhaps a bed for the night?"
[21:29]<Bynw> *Ibon* "I'm a little short on rooms but you may stay here in this chamber. I shall have some bread, cheese and meats brought in."
[21:31]<Daine> ::Stands:: "That is acceptable, thank you. You'll have your man meet us here in the morning then?"
[21:32]<Bynw> *Ibon nods* "Very well then."
[21:33]<Bynw> *Ibon leaves and within a few minutes a couple of men bring in some trays of food and some jars of wine
[21:34]<Daine> ::Looks about the room for any blankets, bedding, or a fireplace::
[21:35]* Regan puts his hand on Risira's arm. "Please be the last to eat or drink."
[21:36]* Regan turns to Tara: @@ What do you know of this Ibon? @@
[21:38]<Daine> ::To Michon as he lights lamps and looks about the chamber:: "I'm starting to see why no one likes this land."
[21:40]<Bynw> *Tara* "I know he was elevated to Title by the Spectrals themselves. Here in Adan they have that right."
[21:42]<Daine> ::Steps in front of the rooms only fireplace. He extends both his hands towards it and closes his eyes for a moment in concentration. The wood smolders for a moment then flames begin to lick up the sides of the logs. He exhales and opens his eyes::
[21:42]* Regan takes two unlit torches and places them on the floor a few paces away from the fireplace, nods and returns to the table.
[21:44]<Bynw> *Michon* "He is very skilled too. He was truth-reading you Daine."
[21:45]<Daine> @@::To the group:: "Perhaps these people would know of Chadwick, by reputation? If he did reside here once."@@
[21:46]<Regan> * To group * @@ Truthreading their answers might help too @@
[21:48]<Bynw> *Tara* "I also know the Baron's full name."
[21:48]<Daine> "Who is he?"
[21:48]* Regan turns to Tara and waits
[21:49]<Bynw> *Tara* "His full name is Ibon Kruger ze Anlarye."
[21:49]* Regan groans
[21:50]<Daine> ::Nods:: "I know the name. It is taught to us in the church. But do you know anything of this Ibon personally?"
[21:51]<Daine> @@"Careful, we are no doubt being listened to."@@
[21:51]<Bynw> *Tara* "I dont know how many of you know your history. So much of it was lost from the mainstream. No. I dont know much about him personally. But he is the direct decendant of Parshawl Kruger ze Anlarye, a Valimarian Anadari master."

[21:56]<Bynw> *Michon to group* @@ "He is not Anadari that I can tell. But he has the spark within him. And he is well trained in a few of his skills at least. I wouldnt want to force a testing of them." @@
[21:57]<Daine> @@"Spectral mages. I am not familiar with this group. Some local group of mages?"@@
[21:59]<Bynw> *Tara* @@ "I guess the Uthani have attempted to wipe out that bit of history. The Spectral Magicians are Adanian. Any place Adan has influence you will find them." @@
[22:00]<Daine> ::Nods:: @@"Then Ibon is likely to know something of Chadwick."@@
[22:01]<Daine> @@"And the druids."@@
[22:02]<Bynw> *Michon* @@ "I'm sure he does." @@
[22:02]* Regan feels under the table's bottom edge and smiles. He then places his staff under the table on a ledge with a slight up-angle to hold it there.
[22:04]<Regan> * To group * @@ So, is the food and wine safe? @@
[22:05]<Bynw> *Michon* "I say we get some rest and see what the morning brings us"
[22:05]<Daine> @@"Why not question him then instead of walking through the forest waiting to be ambushed by the owlbears and druids?"@@
[22:05]<Bynw> *Tara picks at some of the cheese* "It's fine"
[22:05]<Daine> ::Nods to Michon:: "I agree master." ::takes some of the meat and begins eating::
[22:06]* Regan nods at Tara then turns and waits to see if Daine keels over.
